July 8, 2015 For Immediate Release SUSANNA SHARES LIVE INTERPRETATION OF AC/DC’S “IT’S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP”; h9p://bit.ly/1SSSt0w ANNOUNCES BEST OF CASSETTE SERIES AND LIMITED VINYL RELEASES OF MELODY MOUNTAIN AND MESHES OF VOICE N (above image by Anne Valeur) Throughout her career, Norwegian arUst Susanna, the woman behind Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, Susanna, and Susanna Wallumrød, has become known for her personal interpretaUons of other people’s songs, including Dolly Parton, Thin LiZZy, ABBA, and so many more, as well as her strong originals. To celebrate the release of Susanna and the Magical Orchestra’s Melody Mountain on vinyl for the first me, Susanna shares with the world a live version of AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The ToP.” This is taken from a special concert with Morten Qvenild and Helge Sten in Oslo’s Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum where the three-piece played Melody Mountain in its enUrety and a few songs from the recently released “Songs Revisited” EP. Melody Mountain, recorded in 2005 in living room, huts, at the Academy of Music and the Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum, featured songs by AC/DC, Leonard Cohen, Sandy Denny, Kiss, Joy Division and DePeche Mode, all transformed into Susanna and the Magical Orchestra’s sparse and stark universe. Music criUcs across the globe praised the release, especially their cover of “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” In addiUon to Melody Mountain on vinyl, Susanna is releasing Meshes of Voice on double vinyl for the first Ume and Best of Susanna Volumes 1-3, which is a limited ediUon casse9e series containing songs from Susanna’s albums of the last ten years and featuring design by noise arUst Lasse Marhaug. In February 2020, we’re dropping off some stuff when Brigitte shouts “if you get to the plastic section sharpish, someone’s throwing out a pile of records.” I leg it round and within seconds, eyes and brain honed from years in dank backrooms and charity shops, I smell good stuff. I lean inside, grabbing a pile of vinyl and sticking it up my top. There’s compilations with Blondie, Boomtown Rats and Devo and a couple of odd 2001: A Space Odyssey and Close Encounters soundtracks. This story is about vinyl but not as a precious and passive hands-off medium but about using it to generate and form ideas, abusing it to paginate a digital sketchbook and continuing to be astonished by its magic. We re-enter the story, the story of the sounds of ideas forming, after the COVER (VERSIONS) exhibition in collaboration with Aidan Winterburn that brings together the ideas from July 2018 – December 2019. Staged at Leeds Beckett University, it presents the greatest hits of the first 18 months and some extracts from that first text that Aidan responds to (https://tinyurl.com/y4tza6jq), with me in turn responding back, via some ‘OUR PRICE’ style stickers with quotes/stats. For the exhibition, the mock-up sleeves fabricated by Tom Rodgers look stunning, turning the digital detournements into believable double-sided artefacts.

”Motorpsykosens konstruksjon” - en tverrestetisk stilundersøkelse av Motorpsychos og Kim Hiorthøys audiovisuelle uttrykk på albumene ”Timothy`s monster” og ”Blissard”. Tverrestetisk masteroppgave i kunsthistorie av Gjermund Ulvang Hagen Institutt for filosofi, idé- og kunsthistorie og klassiske språk Universitetet i Oslo Høsten 2007 Forord I prosessen med å skrive denne masteroppgaven er det noen enkeltpersoner som har vært av ekstra stor betydning for at prosjektet ble gjennomført. Gruppen har gjennom flere albumutgivelser vist en evne til utfordre seg selv og sitt publikum ved stadig å utforske nye musikalske farvann. Til tross for denne evnen til store variasjoner, har Motorpsycho med sine album og turnevirksomhet utviklet et særegent og identifiserbart "sound". Siden 1993 har kunstneren Kim Hiorthøy designet coverne på bortimot alle Motorpsychos singler, ep’er og album. På denne måten forbindes Hiorthøys coverdesignuttrykk sterkt med bandets visuelle fremtoning og designprofil.

Jeg vil også takke Bent Sæther fra Motorpsycho og Kim Hiorthøy for at de sa ja til å la seg intervjue om tema som er relatert til oppgavens problemstillinger. 2 Sammendrag: Bandet Motorpsycho fremstod på nittitallet som et av Norges mest innovative band. Gruppen har gjennom flere albumutgivelser vist en evne til utfordre seg selv og sitt publikum ved stadig å utforske nye musikalske farvann. Til tross for denne evnen til store variasjoner, har Motorpsycho med sine album og turnevirksomhet utviklet et særegent og identifiserbart "sound". Siden 1993 har kunstneren Kim Hiorthøy designet coverne på bortimot alle Motorpsychos singler, ep’er og album.

Na albume nájdeme prvky jazzu, popu, rocku, country, folku, blues i klasickej hudby, všetko mimoriadne bohatom na melódiu i detail, pri čom s každým ďalším po čúvaním sa nám odkrývajú nové vrstvy. V dvoch skladbách nehos ťuje nik iný ako Marc Ribot, na jednom tracku so spevom vypomáha švédsky spevák Stefan Sundtröm a samotný Morten spieva nádhernú skladbu, ktorá album uzatvára.
