This magnificent record stood for more than thirty-one years until beaten by fellow club member Shaun Creighton last year. In recent months this particular achievement by both Pe- ter and Shaun has deservedly received wide publicity. Peter’s achievements in the ACT Veterans’ Half Marathon are simply outstanding; they are – eighteen age group victories and a second and a third from twen- ty runs. His wins were as an M45 from 1982 to 1986, M50 1987 and 1988, M55 1993, 1995 and 1996, M60 1997 to 1999, M65 in 2003 to 2005, M70 in 2007 and as an M75 in 2010. He won six best male performance trophies (as determined by WMA age standards) - in 1983, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2004 and 2005. He currently has three of the top ten all-time best performances and still holds the M45 age group record.
