Honoree DANIEL SINGER DAVID SINGER SAUL SINGER

Saul and Fran Singer, along with their two sons, David and Daniel, have been devoted leaders of the Westchester community for decades. The Singer Family, with Saul as President, acquired Robison Oil in 1984. Today the business is still family run with David and Daniel as Co-Presidents.

Saul was one of the founders of the Westchester Jewish Council, served as its president and has held many other prominent leadership roles in the Jewish community, including: President of the Greenburgh Hebrew Center, Chairman of Israel Bonds in Westchester, member of the Board of Governors of UJA Federation, Vice President of the New York Conference for Soviet Jewry, member of the Boards of Ben Gurion University and of the School of Westchester (now the Leffell School).

The Singer tradition of leadership and communal responsibility has been passed on to David and Daniel.

David has served the community in many ways, including as a member of the Board of Directors of the Westchester Putnam Workforce Investment Board, UJA Business and Professionals Division, the Rosenthal Jewish Community Center of Northern Westchester, the Advisory Board, and of course the ten years he has been serving on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club. David currently sits on the advisory board of J-Teen and the Board of Directors for Feeding Westchester as well as chair of the Feeding Westchester HR committee.

Daniel is Past Chair of UJA-Federation’s Westchester Business and Professional Division and a recent Past President of Congregation Sons of Israel in Briarcliff Manor. He served as Past chair of the American Jewish Committee’s Energy Independence Committee, as well as its Westchester Board of Directors.

The Singer Family and Robison Oil together with their 8 grandchildren are very appreciative of this honor from the Westchester Jewish Council. Entertainment CORY KAHANEY Cory Kahaney is quite simply one of America’s premiere stand up comediennes. While always in constant demand at comedy clubs coast to coast, Cory first caught fire after being a finalist in NBC’s hit reality show“Last Comic Standing” which has led to appearances on NBC’s “The Carson Daly Show”, Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” and her first solo special,“Comedy Central Presents... Cory Kahaney”. Other television credits include numerous appearances on CBS’s “The Late Late Show”, hosting a week of NBC’s “Later” as well as “The Martin Short Show”, “The View”, “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher”, CBS’s “The Late Show with David Letterman”, NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”, TBS’s “Conan” and an absolute kill on the CBS’s “Late Show with Steven Colbert”. Her off-Broadway hit “The J.A.P. Show” ran for six months in New York City and continues to tour the country under a new name, “The Princesses of Comedy”, selling out theaters to rave reviews. Cory also performs regularly at Las Vegas and Atlantic City’s best casinos including The Tropicana, Harrah’s and Caesar’s Palace. Cory Kahaney was named Best Comedian in NYC by Backstage and Best Female Comedian NYC by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets. And even though she’s had specials on Comedy Central and HBO, her parents still wish she had married a doctor! ROCKMITZVAH Rockmitzvah is the only entertainment entity in the New York metropolitan area, or perhaps the entire country, whose sole purpose is to integrate the bar/bat mitzvah child, their friends, and family, into the actual performance during their simcha. The child is a star for a day, and friends and family members participate musically in a unique event which simply complements the tradition and meaning of this momentous day in the life of a Jewish family. And because every family is different, and every child is unique, every Rockmitzvah is a custom fit. Rockmitzvah presents your Bar/Bat Mitzvah child as the Star of the Show! Your child will rock out with the band. Friends and relatives can sing or join the band using instruments that we provide. Every Rockmitzvah event is customized to provide your party with the perfect balance of musical entertainment. Rock, Pop, R&B and traditional Jewish music along with any other musical requests.

Janelle and Greg Berger Mazel Tov and Yashar Koach to David Alpert Arlene Kleinberg Saul, David & Daniel Singer for all you do for the Westchester Jewish Council and our community Tris and Sam Berger In Honor of David Alpert, Arlene Kleinberg and the Singer Family for all you do for our Westchester community Kol Hakavod! and in support of the important work of Westchester Jewish Council Tracey and Mark Bilski “My dad was a decorated World War II vet who fought so that we may live in peace. During his dying days, he deserved the greatest care and peace of all: Calvary Hospital”

“Escaping the horrors of Nazi Germany, my courageous father Joseph Gostin came to America, settled in Flushing Queens, and enlisted in the US Army. When he returned home, he lived the rest of his life with love, kindness, selflessness and gratitude. And more than life itself, he adored his family, including all 12 grandchildren. This was a man who genuinely understood the ‘gift of life’. It was no surprise that his last wish was for a dignified death. The answer was Calvary Hospital. No other place in the world offers such visionary care, with non-abandonment as one of its primary tenants. Its expert Calvary staff provided my hero and our entire family a peaceful, stress-free environment that allowed dad and everyone else to be family again - enjoying to the fullest, each day until the last - with dignity, compassion and grace. Hand in hand, Calvary provides its world-renowned care every moment of every day. Thank you Calvary Hospital.”
