[email protected] Introduction Lycaena dispar (Haworth, 1802) is a protected insect species in Lithuania (included into the Lithuanian Red Data Book since 2000, red list category 3(R)) (Rašomavi čius, 2007), also protected in the European Union according to the Habitats Directive (Annexes II and IV) (Council Directive 92/43/EEC ; Anonymous, 1992). Its threat status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species is 'Lower Risk/near threatened' (IUCN, 2010), in the European Red List of Butterfies – 'Least Concern' (Van Swaay et al., 2010). At present, the species is included in Appendix II of Bern Convention (Žin., 1996, Nr. 91: 2126). This article presents data that contributes to the knowledge on the distribution of Lycaena dispar in Lithuania. Material and Methods The majority of data were collected by the authors of this report G. Švitra (G.Š.) and D. Dapkus (D.D.) during field expeditions throughout Lithuania in 1980–2010, using standard entomological equipment and methods. Some old data were obtained from collections of the Kaunas T. Ivanauskas Zoological Museum (A. Palionis (A.P.) collection, checked by B. Paulavi čiūtė) and the Exposition of Nature and Landscape of the National Park of the Curonian Spit (P. Motiekaitis (P.M.) collection, checked by V.
