Dual Credit is when a student is earning both High School and College Credit for a class that is being taught by an MSD teacher at either MHS or OHS. Students must meet the requirements which are determined by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education. Dual Credit Eligibility Requirements •All students must have permission to participate from a designated school official. •Juniors/Seniors are automatically eligible if they have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. •Juniors/Seniors with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5-2.99 must provide a signed letter of recommendation from the content area teacher along with written parent permission. Dual Credit Eligibility Requirements (cont.) •Sophomores must have a minimum cumulative unweighted 3.0 GPA and must provide a signed letter of recommendation from the content area teacher and written parent permission. •Freshman must have a minimum cumulative unweighted 3.0 GPA, score at the 90th percentile or above on the ACT/SAT and must provide a signed letter of recommendation from the content area teacher.     82 Missouri students get perfect ACT score More than 68,000 of Missouri’s high school graduating class of 2018 took the ACT as juniors – 82 of which had the distinct honor of earning a perfect score of 36. The exam is used to help determine how prepared students are for college. 82 Missouri students get perfect ACT scores According to the ACT organization, Missouri had 71 high school juniors earn a perfect score the previous year.     MIDWEST REGIONAL BANK DONATES TO LOCAL SCHOOLS Festus, MO – January 11, 2017 Midwest Regional Bank has made its annual charitable donations to area schools, bringing the program’s total donations to $123,870 since its inception in 2011. Bank representatives delivered checks to 29 local schools, providing funds for 77 different initiatives. This year’s beneficiaries of MWRBank’s We Care About Kids Program were: Antonia Middle School, Crystal City Elementary, Crystal City Jr High, Crystal City High School, Dunklin School District, Festus Elementary, Festus Middle School, Festus Intermediate School, Festus High School, Hodge Elementary School, Simpson Elementary School, Clyde Hamrick Elementary, Fox Middle School, Fox High School, Ridgewood Middle School, Meramec Heights Elementary School, Seckman Middle School, Seckman High School, Lone Dell Elementary, Plattin Primary, Telegraph Intermediate, Twin City Christian Academy, Windsor Elementary, Windsor Middle School and Windsor High School. Each fall, Midwest Regional Bank invites all local schools to request funds for any needs that they are unable to meet with their current budgets. The administrators, coaches, teachers, department heads or counselors are asked to submit their requests to the bank in September. In October, MWRBank allocates and distributes money to the schools to provide the programs, equipment or services that are needed most. The donations provide for such things furniture, athletic equipment, incentive programs, library books, electronics, art supplies and new technology. Midwest Regional Bank’s We Care About Kids program is an ongoing charitable effort to help local schools by creating a richer learning environment for the kids and reducing strain on teachers and administrators. MWRBank is focused on investing in the community it serves, and believes that children are the foundation of a successful future.
