Generally, these awards are merit-based and involve a long-term application process. OGFA Resources & Services Workshops about award topics and persuasive writing Focused presentations and roundtable discussions One-on-one advising Application assistance, including serving as an outside reader Information about relevant campus policies and procedures Blackboard organization site with announcements, tips, and award information Newsletter (available on Blackboard and the office website) Website with upcoming events and event registration, news, and student profiles Graduate and Professional Students of Distinction http://ogfa.fsu.edu For assistance with awards not included in this introductory guide, please provide us with the award information (e.g., website URL, deadline, and essay prompts). About Deadlines General references to deadlines are included in this guide as a point of reference. Please refer to the sponsor’s website for the latest information. Although sponsors may post national deadlines online, there may be an earlier campus deadline. For applications submitted by the Office of Research, please refer to their deadline policy and check the list of limited submissions with earlier deadlines. Begin early to have a completed application, forms, and signatures in time. http://www.research.fsu.edu/ For assistance, please contact the OGFA at least 8 business days prior to the deadline with your completed proposal. The OGFA can help coordinate information about campus procedures for external awards that are administered by the university. Without proper advance notice, the OGFA cannot guarantee assistance before a deadline. Early submission is highly encouraged to avoid last minute problems including technical issues with the application system and issues compiling the application components. For some application systems, there is a delay between the creation and activation of the applicant’s account, which if initiated too late would prevent successful submission.
