On a deep blue prayer panel are three concentric serrated and latch hook medallions. Above the prayer panel, (mirhab) are five smaller subsidiary mirhabs. Hand knotted wool. On rust/orange square field a singular blue latchhook central medallion encloses floating flowerheads. The field is outlined by a fine and narrow white border. A large blue major border with repeating rust and yellow latch hook medallions surrounds the field. Ends of carpet feature multicolor bands of color. 4’ 6” x 6’ 1” ( apx.) Used for travel on horseback. On a red/maroon field are joined pairs of multicolored concentric diamonds centered by cruciforms. Two major borders enclose design, one border of flower heads, the other a dragonhead repeat. 2’ 11” x 5” 11” (apx.) Very striking colorful piece reminiscent of Native American Navajo eye dazzler carpets.
