The contemporary visual artist, Vesna Klačar-Nedimović, was born in Belgrade (Serbia) and is based in Brisbane (Australia). Klačar-Nedimović dedicated her series of artworks Fragments II: Belgrade to her hometown after being inspired by Belgrade’s historical architecture on her holiday in 2010. Even though she moved to Australia in 1991 she often says “I left Belgrade, but Belgrade never left me”. Olivera Vučković, Program Coordinator at Public Enterprise “Belgrade Fortress” says she recognised the story of an artist living thousands of kilometres away but still inspired by the Belgrade soul.
