Information About Julian's 2022 Washington D.C. Trip
2022 Washington, D.C. Trip Dear Parents and Students, I am excited to announce that I will lead a group of Percy Julian Middle School students on a WorldStrides program to Washington, D.C.. On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, students will explore our nation's most important historical sites and experience incomparable learning moments. This will be a trip that your child will be talking about for years to come! Your child will return home excited to tell you about: Standing where Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial Discovering the true meaning of sacrifice at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Walking in the footsteps of our great leaders on Capitol Hill Exploring numerous Smithsonian Museums, like the National Museum of Natural History and the National Air and Space Museum I have chosen to travel with WorldStrides because of their exceptional service, their 50 years of experience, their safety record, and their preventive measures that ensure learning occurs in a safe and fun environment. I will chaperone the program with other teachers as needed, and throughout the program our group will be guided by a WorldStrides-certified Course Leader. Since this is not a school sponsored trip, we will not be attending as representatives or employees of the school. There will be a trip information meeting to discuss this wonderful opportunity on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 7:00 PM Zoom link to come. Most are located on National Park Service lands and were established by separate acts of Congress. The authorization law is available upon request. The database can be mapped in GIS for spatial analysis. Many other works contribute to the capital's commemorative landscape. Boys & Girls Club offers all-expenses-paid educational trip to Washington DC for 40 Janesville middle school students Scholarships made possible by a grant from the Herbert H. Kohl Charities Foundation will allow 40 Janesville middle school students to take an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington DC with Boys & Girls Club of Janesville this summer from Monday July 20 to Friday July 20. Costs covered by the scholarships include motor coach transportation, lodging at a Hampton Inn & Suites, all meals, and admittance and entrance fees for the entire itinerary. Interested students must submit a scholarship application to Boys & Girls Club of Janesville no later than 6:00 pm on Friday, March 13; and meet all additional requirements for the trip (see application packet). 40 students will be selected and notified by April 15, along with 5 male and 5 female alternates. (Brightspark Travel notes that alternates almost all end up with a seat on the bus!) The trip will be chaperoned by adult employees of Boys & Girls Club of Janesville, along with School District of Janesville volunteers. Westfield Middle School 8th Grade Washington, DC & Gettysburg Tour Friday, March 29 – Monday, April 1, 2019 ITINERARY: Friday, March 29 Depart Westfield Middle School at the early time of 5:00am to travel to our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. Traveling via motorcoach, stop for fast food breakfast and lunch en route, arriving about 5:30pm.
