Citing a campus education code which "pro- hibits any activity disrupting campus activity," Quintero told Trout that he could be arrested for creating a disruption. "I'm forbidden to preach the gospel," Trout said. "Communists and homosexuals don't like the Bible or should I say Democrats and homosexuals." Trout said he came from Florida years ago to preach in San Jose after pulling the city out of a box full of choices. Jeff Anderson, a junior marketing major, was in the fountain area and said that he has seen the preacher on campus before. "I didn't hear what he was talking about," Anderson said. "He has the right to preach here." Senior biology major Christine Jurado said she believes Trout should be allowed to speak as long as it doesn't bother anyone. The sessions for Meanwhile… Back at the Lab began in late 2013, shortly following the band’s seventh studio release Top Of The World. The forthcoming album was recorded at the band’s studio, as well as at Platinum Sound, NYC; Rivas Studios, L.A.; Mixdown Town LBC, Long Beach, CA; and was self-produced by the band along with The Lab’s in-house audio engineering maestro James Wisner with the help of Jerry Wonda (The Fugees, Wyclef Jean) engineered an impromptu late night/early morning session at Platinum Sound, yielding the collaborative “Come Around.” Back home, Kyle and Miles also called on their long-time friends and Southern California music icons, Michael “Miguel” Happoldt and Marshall “Ras MG” Goodman, to produce standout tracks “Life Rolls On” and “The Prophet.” "We're a touring act, and we've been on the road pretty much non-stop over the last decade," explains Doughty, offering that the band's own local recording studio and rehearsal clubhouse “The Lab at Stoopid Studios” (within the warehouse district of Mission Valley just inland of Ocean Beach), is a key ingredient of what keeps the band’s sound fresh.

  • Press Kit & Rider
LEYLANI’S PRESS KIT & RIDER LEYLANI’S BIOGRAPHY Bio: Leylani is a Maui-based singer and songwriter with a smooth, sultry style. She has been writing and performing in the Reggae/Pop genre on stages in Hilo, Kona, Molokai, Honolulu and Maui since 2006, and most recently Mexico. Her stage presence is commanding and immediately draws her fans out to dance. Born “Leilani Marie Stark” in 1988 in Oklahoma to a high chief’s daughter from Samoa and an American artist/writer/teacher, she developed a passion for music in her grandparents’ music room while memorizing songs in musicals such as “Phantom of the Opera”, “Grease” and “Evita”. In elementary school in Kihei, Maui, she was trained with the TrebleMakers choir and performed at local venues. Then, she and her best friend became the musical duo known as “Hapalicious” and began writing and performing their own songs at schools and events from the Marriott Luau to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center with the Brown Ohana. Her biggest musical influences were Celine Dion, Selina, and Mariah Carey. “I used to listen to their songs and sing along over and over on my microphone as a child every day after school”. Leilani’s first professional venture was to join the band “One Inity” at the age of 15 as their lead female singer. She co-wrote and composed “Greener” on One Inity’s first album. “Greener” became the most requested song on the Big Island within three days of the album’s release, and soon became a worldwide hit from the Caribbean to South America, Africa to Tahiti, making the top 100 list on the World/ Reggae Billboard Charts.
