Council Tax Support East Lindsey District Council’s scheme for 2021/22 will continue to support working age customers on low income with up to 75% of their Council Tax Bill. This means that those customers will have to pay at least 25% of their Council Tax. If you are working age and a care leaver, you will be entitled to 100% off your Council Tax Bill. People of pension age, war pensioners and war widowers will continue to get the same level of support as they did previously. The Secretary of State made an offer to adult social care authorities. (“Adult social care authorities” are local authorities which have functions under Part 1 of the Care Act 2014, namely county councils in , district councils for an area in England where there is no county council, London borough councils, the Common Council of the City of London and the Council of the Isles of Scilly.)

The offer was the option of an adult social care authority being able to charge an additional “precept” on its council tax without holding a referendum, to assist the authority in meeting its expenditure on adult social care from the financial year 2016-17. Parish Precepts The District Council has set a Band D Council Tax of £1,782.21 (District Council £151.74, Lincolnshire County Council £1,364.16 and Police & Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire £266.31) for its area for the chargeable financial year beginning 1st April 2021. Additional amounts have been set for the precepts of Local Councils.
