Sugababes are a pop group from Britain, which was formed in 1998 by Keisha Buchanan (born September 30, 1984), Mutya Buena (born May 21, 1985) and Siobhan Donaghy (born June 14, 1983). Buchanan has Jamaican background, Buena is half filipino and Donaghy has Irish background. After their first album, One Touch Siobhan left the group and was replaced by Heidi Range (born 23 May 1983). They later gave their album Angels with Dirty Faces. Then came the singles "Stronger", "Freak Like Me," "Angels with Dirty Faces" and "Round Round". In 2003, the album Three and the singles "In the middle," "Hole in the head" and "Too lost in you". Two years later came the last album with Mutya, Taller in More Ways. Right after Mutya left the group and Amelle Berrabah (born April 22, 1984) took her place. Then came Taller in more ways out of Amelle's version. In 2006, Overloaded: The Singles Collection out where all the singles from the Sugababes was with. In October 2007, Change of one of the Sugababes the most popular singles, "About You Now". In October 2008 the group released the album Catfights and Spotlights with subsequent singles "Girls" and "No Can Do". Buchanan joined in 2009 as the last of the original members and was replaced by Jade Ewen. Discography. Recent changes in the landscape of video games, especially game marketers’ increasing interest in expanding the market, have made the subject of women in gaming more noticeable than ever. This dissertation asked how gender, especially females as a troubling demographic marking difference, shaped video game cultures in the recent past. This dissertation focused primarily on cultures found on the Internet as they related to video game consoles as they took shape during the beginning of the seventh generation of consoles, between 2005 and 2009. Using discourse analysis, this dissertation analyzed the ways gendered speech was used by cultural members to define not only the limits and values of a generalizable video game culture, but also to define the idealized gamer. This dissertation found that video game cultures exhibited the same biases against women that many other cyber/digital cultures employed, as evidenced by feminist scholars of technology. Specifically, female gamers were often perceived as less authoritative of technology than male gamers. This was especially true when the concept “hardcore” was employed to describe the ideals of gaming culture.

Äänimaailman tutkiminen osana mainosta on siksi merkityksellistä. Tässä artikkelissa käsittelen tutkimusta, jossa selvitettiin, mi- ten lapsille suunnatuissa mainoselokuvissa käytetään ääntä vaikuttamisen välinee- nä. Puheen semanttinen sisältö rajattiin tarkastelun ulkopuolelle, ja mainoksista tutkittiin musiikkia, äänitehosteita ja puheen ei-kielellisiä elementtejä, kuten proso- diikkaa. Tutkimusaineisto koostui suomalaisella televisiokanavalla näytetyistä las- ten lelumainoksista. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin määrällistä sisällönanalyysia. Koska lastenmainoksissa esiintyvät sukupuolistereotypiat on tunnustettu yleisesti, tutkittiin erityisesti sitä, miten sukupuolen esittämisen tavat toteutuvat äänen kei- noin.
