Itä-Suomen hallinto-oikeuden antaman päätöksen 21.3.2016 (nro 16/0079/3) mukaisesti päätöksen 24.6.2014 lupamääräys 3 on kumottu ja palautettu Turvalli suus-ja kemikaalivirastoon uudelleen käsiteltäväksi. Mondo Minerals B.V. valitti päätöksestä. KHO antoi päätöksen 22.11.2017 (Dnro 1217/1/16). Korkeimman hallinto-oikeuden ratkaisun mukaan Itä-Suomen hallinto-oikeuden päätöstä ei muuteta. In 1998 EEA published Guidelines for the implementation of the EUROWATERNET monitoring network for inland waters. In every Member Country a monitoring network should be designed according to these Guidelines and put into operation. Together these national networks will form the EUROWATERNET monitoring network that will provide information on the quantity and quality of European inland waters. In the future they will be developed to meet the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. This publication presents the Finnish EUROWATERNET monitoring network put into operation from the first of January, 2000. It includes a total of 195 river sites, 253 lake sites and 74 hydrological baseline sites. Groundwater monitoring network will be developed later. In addition, information about Finnish water resources and current monitoring strategies is given. The concentrations of radioactive cesium and other gamma-emitting nuclides were determined on meat of moose8 and other cervids and also on small game in various parts of the country before or in the beginning of the hunting season. The most important radionuclides found in the samples were 134Cs and 137Cs. In addition to these, 131I was detected in the first moose meat samples in the spring, and 110"Ag in a part of the waterfowl samples. None of them was significant as far as the dietary intake of radionuclides is concerned. The transfer of fallout radiocesium to game meat was most efficient in the case of the arctic hare and inland waterfowl; terrestrial game birds and the brown hare belonged to the same category as moose. -

It nowadays publishes literature in the fields of ethnology and folkloristics, linguistics, literary research and cultural history. The first volume of the Studia Fennica series appeared in 1933. Since 1992, the series has been divided into three thematic subseries: Ethnologica, Folkloristica and Linguistica. Two additional subseries were formed in 2002, Historica and Litteraria. The subseries Anthropologica was formed in 2007. Finline 2021 Preinformation
FinLine 2021 Prepare yourself (again) for a week of skating in the wilderness! Last summer we were forced to cancel our annual skating holiday first time in its history after 28 consecutive years. It looks like the situation is now getting better in Finland and by postponing the event by one month from traditional July we try to maximize the possibilities for our European friends to travel and join the event. In other words, we are trying again this summer! Finland is (still) a large country with big forests – and some paved roads in middle of them. We will re-use our existing plans: after the Swedish- speaking western coastline of FinLine 2019, Skating on Punkaharju ridge between lakes. FinLine will be skated in the wilderness of North Karelia, in the huge backwoods with bears and wolves split by the Russian border. https://w.wiki/mqu The plan is to follow roughly the borderline up to the most uninhabited areas of the province. During the journey, we will see many of the officially declared national landscapes of Finland, like Olavinlinna Castle, Punkaharju Ridge, North Karelian hillside villages and the Koli National Park. Our plan is again to add optional “extras” on the route map for some of the skating days. Skaters that like to enjoy more kilometers can choose to skate the extras depending on their feeling and weather. Skating starts from Savonlinna and ends in Joensuu, the capital of North Karelia and a lively university town. On the way, in addition to the national landscapes, we will enjoy the clear Puruvesi Lake, skate along the border less than half kilometer from Russia, see traditional houses like Orthodox tšasounas, be able to visit the easternmost place of the continental EU and cruise across the huge 1 Some FinLine 1996 skaters on the top of Koli. -

Identity can be seen as the link between people, heritage and place. People want to identify themselves with a place, because for them that place has a special character. Many features distinguish places from each other and heritage is one of these features that contribute to the identity of a place and to the identification of individuals and groups within that specific place. Therefore heritage is an important contributor when people identify themselves with a place. Nowadays the interest in heritage and identity is strong in the context of processes of globalisation. Globalisation has resulted in openness and heterogeneousness in terms of place and culture. More and more, identities are being questioned and globalisation has caused nationalism and regionalism in which heritage is used to justify the construction of identities. Karelia North Karelia can be seen as part of Karelia as a whole. Karelia is situated partly in Finland and partly in Russia and that makes it a border area. Karelia is a social-cultural constructed area with no official boundaries. The shape, size and its inhabitants changed many times during the centuries.
