The proposed work includes a new emergency generator and automatic transfer switch at the existing Clallam PUD#1 Operations Center at 110 Idea Place, Sequim, WA. 98382, as described in the construction documents prepared by Lawhead Architects, P.S., together with their consultants. B. Project Description: The Work is described briefly as follows without force or effect on other parts of the contract documents: Work under the basic scope shall include all work as described in the Contract Documents, Drawings and Project Manual. The proposed work includes, but is not limited to, a new emergency generator and automatic transfer switch and all related electrical work at the existing Clallam PUD#1 Operations Center at 110 Idea Place, Sequim WA, as described in the construction documents prepared by Lawhead Architects, P.S., together with their consultants. Site work includes, but is not limited to, relocation of existing an propane tank, removal of existing concrete slab, curbs, and asphalt paving, excavation and backfill, and trenching as needed for placement of new underground LP fuel tanks and piping; saw cut and demolition of an existing concrete sidewalk; placement of new concrete slabs and curbs for emergency generator and relocated tank; trench backfill and asphalt repair. 1.02 SCHEDULING: A. It may be anticipated that work at Site may begin immediately following written Notice to Proceed and Preconstruction Conference. Contractors shall coordinate with Clallam County PUD #1 for project start. B. The Date of Substantial Completion shall be determined as follows: Substantial Completion shall be achieved one hundred eighty (180) consecutive calendar days following written Notice to Proceed. Final Completion shall be one hundred ninety- five (195) consecutive calendar days following written Notice to Proceed. C. Allow Clallam County PUD #1 to occupy and use all facilities the day following Substantial Completion. 1.03 EARLY WORK: A. Comply with requirements for submittals and samples in Section 01 33 23. B. Mobilize workers and stock materials in anticipation of construction start. 1.04 CONTRACTOR'S USE OF PREMISES: A. Only the area designated within the limits of construction is available to the Contractor for storage, staging, and construction. The remaining areas of the property will continue in active operation by the Owner. Access to the construction area is provided through a secure gate and within active parking and driveway areas. Coordinate with Clallam 01 11 00 – 1 / 3 CLALLAM COUTY PUD #1 01 11 00 ENGINEERING/DISPATCH GENERATOR SUMMARY OF WORK JOB NO. 12-23 County PUD #1 for definition of any areas that require additional protection. Assume full responsibility for the protection and safekeeping of the work under this Contract and of materials and products stored on the site. Secure materials and the construction area. B. Move stored products that interfere with operations of Clallam County PUD #1, users of adjacent properties, or separate contractors. C. Obtain and pay for the use of additional storage or work areas needed for operations. D. Do not load structures or permit structures to be loaded with weights that will endanger a structure. E. Following completion of the work, restore surrounding areas to their original condition. Dress the existing areas with additional material as needed to achieve the original grades. Replace paving damaged by construction activity. 1.05 OWNER-FURNISHED PRODUCTS: A. Definition: Products furnished by Clallam County PUD #1, their agents, and/or suppliers for use in the construction or for installation by the Contractor. B. Owner's Responsibilities: 1. Arrange for and deliver necessary shop drawings, product data, and samples of Owner-furnished products to the Contractor, through the Architect. 2. Arrange and pay for delivery of Owner-furnished products to the site, in accordance with the Construction Schedule. C. Contractor's Responsibilities: 1. Designate delivery dates for products in the Construction Schedule. 2. Review shop drawings, product data, and samples of Owner-furnished products and materials to be used in the construction or installed by the Contractor. Return to Architect with notification of discrepancies or problems anticipated in the use of the products. 3. Receive and unload products at the site. 4. Promptly inspect products jointly with the Owner’s representative and record shortages, damaged or defective items. 5. Handle products at the site, including uncrating and storage. 6. Protect products from exposure to elements and from damage. 7. Install, connect, and finish products. 8. Repair or replace items damaged as a result of Contractor's responsibilities. End of Section 01 11 00 01 11 00 – 3 / 3 CLALLAM COUNTY PUD #1 SECTION 01 25 13 ENGINEERING/DISPATCH GENERATOR PRODUCT SUBSTITUTION JOB NO. 12-23 PROCEDURES PART 1 – GENERAL 1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS: A. General Conditions, as modified in the Supplementary Conditions. 1.02 CONTRACTOR'S OPTIONS: A. For products specified by reference standards, or by trade name followed by the words "or equal", select any product meeting standards, by any manufacturer. Submit products to Architect for approval. B. For Products Specified by Naming Products or Manufacturers followed by other words: 1. Select any product and manufacturer named, or 2. Submit request, as required for substitution, for any product not specifically named. 1.03 SUBSTITUTION REQUESTS: A. During bidding, Architect will consider written requests for substitutions received from the General Contractor. Substitution requests must be received by the Architect a minimum of ten (10) calendar days prior to the date bids are to be received. 1. Submit only on form following this Section, which may be copied, or on CSI Substitution Request Form. Make a separate copy for each product proposed. 2. Blank substitution forms are available at the office of the Architect. Forms will not be mailed. 3. If the proposed substitution is approved, such approvals will be set forth in an Addendum. Bidders shall not rely upon approvals made in any other manner. B. After date of Contract, the Owner may consider formal requests from Contractor for substitution of products in place of those specified when submitted in accordance with the requirements of this Section. One or more of the following conditions must also be documented: 1. The substitution must be required for compliance with final interpretation of code requirements or insurance regulations. 2. The substitution must be due to the unavailability of the specified products, through no fault of the Contractor. 3. The substitution may be requested when subsequent information discloses the inability of the specified products to perform properly or to fit in the designated space. 4. The substitution may be due to the manufacturer's or fabricator's refusal to certify or guarantee performance of the specified product as required. 5.
