Classic White Peak Mountain Bike Route ROUTE 1 Start at Hassop Station and head west on the Monsal Trail towards Monsal Dale taking in the epic limestone railway Monsal Dale, Brushfield, tunnels, 2 the Headstone Viaduct, cotton mills and lime kilns. Pass through 3 Millers Dale Station and keep going almost to Hassop and Bakewell the end of the trail 4 next to Blackwell Cycle Hire. Leave it here, loop over the trail on a bridge and head south on the Pennine Bridleway up the steep hill. Through the gate at the top and Figure of Eight immediate left on the bridleway. Turn left onto the road and go Full route is approximately through 5 Blackwell. Then straight over at the cross roads, up 35km with 915m of climbing the hill. After the bend in the road turn left and go through 6 Priestcliffe village. Continue straight down the hill on the unclassified track called Broadway Lane. After about a kilometre take the bridleway right 7 into picturesque High Dale. Follow the byway round the top of Monsal Dale then head down a rocky track. At the bend head left down a greasy, steep singletrack bridleway (watch out for walkers). We recommend you start at Hassop Station where there is plenty of parking, a cafe, gift shop, and bike hire. To continue on the longer route , add the ‘Eastern Loop’ by leaving the trail at 9 next bridge along after Great Longstone There are lots of facilties next to the routes... Station. By Hassop Hall turn Blackwell: www.peakblackwellcyclehire.com right. 50 yards down the hill, just after 11 Home Farm, turn left onto the bridleway. Bike Shop: Bakewell: www.peaklandcycles.co.uk Enjoy the singletrack all the way to 12 ‘13 Bends’ ( the A619 Food and drink next to the route: Bakewell Road). Turn right on the road and then after 50 yards Hassop Station: www.hassopstation.co.uk take the bridleway left and climb to Pilsley. In the village go up Millers Dale Station: The Refreshment Room the road in front of the Devonshire, past the shop / post office Blackwell: www.peakblackwellcyclehire.com and school. Turn left on the 13 B6048 and then right on the Edensor: www.edensorteacottage.co.uk 14 B6012 towards Chatsworth. Pilsley: www.devonshirepilsley.co.uk Go past the Cavendish Club and over the cattle grid.
