To help you organize your stay in Tulcea (Romania), in the Delta, you will find below some practical information.

Caution!: June is the beginning of the tourist season in the Danube Delta. The region's attendance rate requires that you plan your travel and accommodation.

• TRANSPORT and TRANSFER

Many airlines (including low coast airlines) serve (Henry Coanda - Otopeni airport) from France. Tulcea is located 340 kilometres from Bucharest, near the Danube Delta.

To reach Tulcea, we propose to organize a bus transfer on Sunday 2 June from Henry Coanda Airport - Otopeni in Bucharest (estimated cost: 30 €).

For the return trip, we propose to organize a transfer between Tulcea and Henry Coanda - Otopeni Airport in Bucharest on Saturday 7 June (estimated cost: 30 €).

You will be able to register for these transfers on the registration form that will be sent to you shortly.

Please let us know your arrival and departure times in Bucharest as soon as possible, so that we can offer you a suitable transport solution. The average transport time between Bucharest and Tulcea by road is about 4 hours.

If you prefer to organize your own transfer, below you will find links to organize your visit to Tulcea and return to Bucharest with transport companies (facilitate transfers from Henry Conda - Otopeni airport, without going through the city centre of Bucharest). We do not encourage you to take the train, the bus being a much faster means of .

- If you are coming by car, the recommended route between Bucharest and Tulcea is as follows: Bucharest - Urziceni - Slobozia - Harsova - Tulcea (E60 - Route 2A - Route 22A).

• ACCOMMODATION IN TULCEA

The hotel reservation rate in Tulcea is very high during this highly tourist season. The conference organizers have pre-booked rooms at the Delta Hotel (conference venue) at a negotiated rate.

• CONFERENCE

The conference will be held in the conference room of the Delta Hotel, located in Tulcea, on the banks of the Danube https://www.hoteldelta.eu/.

- Sessions (June, 3-5th) The sessions will take place from Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, June 5. Seated meals will be served on site. A tasting evening of Dobroudja wines will be offered on Tuesday, June 4. Excursions will be organized on June 5 and 6.

- Excursions (June 5-6 th) The first excursion on Thursday 6 June will take us by boat for about 10 hours to the heart of the Danube Delta. From Tulcea, we will take 's arm and then make a stopover in the Lipovene village of Mila 23. A meal will be served on the boat. Return to Tulcea at around 8 p.m. via secondary canals if navigation conditions allow. Think about mosquito protection....

The second excursion, on Friday, June 7, by bus, will take us to the coast with a visit to the protohistoric and ancient city of Histria, located on the shores of the lagoon. The second stop will take us to the village of Jurilovca, where we will have lunch in Lunca, on the shores of the Razelm lagoon. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Enisala. Return to Tulcea.

• PRACTICAL ADVICES: - Romanian currency: the Romanian currency is the LEU (or RON). You can easily convert your euros at Tulcea's banks or withdraw money from ATMs in the city. 1 € = 4,74 Lei (Ron). - Prefer the consumption of bottled mineral water.
