RESEARCH PROGRAM My research program focuses on the social determinants of health and the impact of social policies on health and health inequalities. In particular, my research examines the large and growing inequalities in health across income and geographic areas within the United States (U.S.). I am interested in the role of social policies in protecting—or worsening—the health of low-income populations in the U.S., with a focus on examining whether U.S. state policies contribute to widening health inequalities.
