  • Sponsorship Form
Dear Friends of the Smyrna Stars: This letter is written on behalf of the Smyrna Stars Junior Division Basketball Program to ask for your support in sponsorship or donation for our upcoming fundraiser – our second annual Celebrity All-Star Basketball game with the Harlem Legends (former Harlem Globetrotter players). The theme of our event is “Take your Dad to the game - A Father’s Day Celebration”!!! The date of the event is June 13, 2009. Last year’s event was a rousing success, as families and kids of all ages enjoyed watching the entertaining Harlem Legend Players play against several NBA and NFL players that participated in the game, such as former NFL player Mo Lewis, and current NBA players: Jarrett Jack, Royal Ivey, and Javaris Crittenton. We also had Gar Heard and Mario West as celebrity coaches from the NBA. Proceeds from this fundraiser support The Smyrna Stars Junior Division Basketball Program. The Smyrna Stars is an AAU (Amateur Athletic Union)/ YBOA basketball program that promotes and teaches teamwork, sportsmanship, good conduct, leadership and character values to young men 9-17 years old. The Smyrna Stars programs have helped many young men obtain academic and athletic college scholarships. All of our directors, coaches, and other association personnel are volunteers and receive no compensation other than the satisfaction that we are helping to develop future model citizens for our communities. We have 7 teams for whom we are raising funds for participation in regional and national tournaments. This fundraiser will help to offset team expenses, including lodging, transportation, meals and registration expenses.
