The National Security Guard, a Federal Contingency Force, was raised in 1984 for *>5|y combating terrorist activities with a view to protecting States against internal disturbances and for matters connected therewith. 2. Over a period of time a need was felt to establish Museum to provide comprehensive hi -awareness to the future generation about the service and sacrifices of the Commandos of NSG in Manesar Garrison and so far it has been a popular attraction for NSG personnel as well as visitors to the NSG Garrison. The NSG Museum and the exterior landscaping was conceptualized by Shri Sanat Chatterjee, Padam Shree an alumni of the Bengal School of Arts. The mission of our Museum is to collect, restore and preserve NSG memorabilia, including weapon and equipments for display in a manner commemorating all the operational engagements in which Commandos of NSG fought. 3. As discussed by DG NSG with Secretary, Ministry of Culture (Govt of India) for providing Grant to NSG Museum for refurbishment, a letter of recommendation from your good office is required for flirtlier submissionjo Secretary,'Directorate Of Archaeology & Museum, Govt. of Haryana and finally to Ministry of Culture for approval. 4. It is therefore requested that our case for seeking financial assistance under the Museum Grant Scheme from Ministry of Culture may be recommended to achieve our desired goals in preserving antiquity and promoting NSG Museum. The NSG Museum \ perpetrates the memory of| the lives sacrified in defense of the nation and stand as a tribute to' those who fought. The Museum themes are the collection and preservation of historical artifacts and operational research. The Museum is above all, for the increase and difilision of knowledge. r—■:s.— !■) OBJECTIVES : The objective of NSG Museum is to collect, restore and preserve NSG memorabilia. Two terrorists were killed and two AK- 47s were recovered. \ 27 March 1993: NSG mobilized and moved to Adampur for rescue of \ hostages of Indian Airlines Flight IC 486. 24-25 April 1993: NSG Commandos storm a hijacked Indian Airlines Boeing 737 with 141 passengers on board at Amritsar airport during Operation Ashwamedh. Two hijackers, including their leader, Mohammed Yousuf Shah, are killed and one is^disarmed before. No hostages are harmed. .12 J 15 July 1999; NSG commandos end a 30- hour standoff by killing 2 teiTorists and rescuing all 12 hostages unharmed in J&K. The terrorists had attacked a BSF campus- near Srinagar, killed 3 officers and the wife of another. The 12 hostages were kept locked in a room. 26 November 2008 Mumbai attacks — Operation Black Tornado and Operation Cyclone to flush out terrorists :v & rescue hostages after multiple attacks 1 across Mumbai, India.
