The Disneyland Resort Specific Plan Section 4.0: Public Facilities Plan The Disneyland Resort Specific Plan Section 4.0: Public Facilities Plan The Public Facilities Plan contains a description of the proposed plans for transportation, utilities, infrastructure and services for the Specific Plan area. The first two Subsections describe planned regional improvements which have an impact on the project. The improvements described under each of the remaining sections are intended to summarize all the services needed for build out of The Disneyland Resort project with the exception of any improvements which may be identified through further environmental review associated with the Future Expansion District. As described in Section 3.4, the primary objective of the Phasing Plan is to minimize the effect of construction on the local street thoroughfares while ensuring the provision of adequate infrastructure and allowing the smooth operation of existing uses during construction. Each proposed public facility improvement summarized in this Section is followed by a number that indicates in which of the project phases the improvement will be made. More detailed information concerning the proposed public facilities/services is contained in Final EIR No. 311 including the Addendum and modified Mitigation Monitoring Program No. 0067 associated there- with. Additional information is contained in the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and Addenda prepared in connection with Specific Plan Amendment Nos. 5, 6 and 8 4.1 Regional pertaining to the Anaheim GardenWalk project. Circulation Programs Currently, several major facilities provide vehicular access to the Specific Plan area. Old trends and new tendencies Abstract Many hotels are owned by a few dozen so-called hotel chains or hotel Andrzej Kowalczyk systems. The rapid growth of big hotel companies can be regarded as proof of the entrance of hotel systems into the globalisation phase. Since 2006, companies from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) have been among the world’s top hotel systems. This year can be considered Department of Geography of Tourism & Recreation as the symbolic beginning of a new stage in the history of the largest Institute of Socio-Economic Geography & Spatial Management hotel systems. This paper shows two main trends. While the proposed site is proximate to some demand generators, the low density of commercial developments in the area is projected to be a weakness. CATHOLIC SHRINES IN CHENNAI, INDIA: THE POLITICS OF RENEWAL AND APOSTOLIC LEGACY BY THOMAS CHARLES NAGY A thesis submitted to the Victoria University of Wellington in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Studies Victoria University of Wellington (2014) Abstract This thesis investigates the phenomenon of Catholic renewal in India by focussing on various Roman Catholic churches and shrines located in Chennai, a large city in South India where activities concerning saintal revival and shrinal development have taken place in the recent past. The thesis tracks the changing local significance of St. Thomas the Apostle, who according to local legend, was martyred and buried in Chennai. In particular, it details the efforts of the Church hierarchy in Chennai to bring about a revival of devotion to St. Thomas. In doing this, it covers a wide range of issues pertinent to the study of contemporary Indian Christianity, such as Indian Catholic identity, Indian Christian indigeneity and Hindu nationalism, as well as the marketing of St. Thomas and Catholicism within South India. The thesis argues that the Roman Catholic renewal and ―revival‖ of St. Thomas in Chennai is largely a Church-driven hierarchal movement that was specifically initiated for the purpose of Catholic evangelization and missionization in India. Furthermore, it is clear that the local Church‘s strategy of shrinal development and marketing encompasses Catholic parishes and shrines throughout Chennai‘s metropolitan area, and thus, is not just limited to those sites associated with St. Thomas‘s Apostolic legacy. i Acknowledgements This thesis is dedicated to the memory of my father Richard M. -
