Dr. Jerry M. Wallace, pastor of the Elizabethtown Baptist church, will be guest preacher for a series of revival services at Spring Hill Baptist church, Wagram, next week. The series will open Sunday and continue through Thursday with services each night at 7:30. The revival will also be marked by special music by visiting and local groups. Mrs. Lee Hanna is choir director, Mrs. W.T. Crump organist. In addition to the church choir, music will be presented by Mrs. Alton A. Coble, soloist, a quartet com• posed of Lee Hanna, Ronnie Laviner, Alton A. Coble, and James Shaver, and the Scotland High Ensemble.

The visiting minister is a native of Rockingham and a graduate of Rockingham high school. He receive his Bachelor's degree from East Carolina College, then earned the Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Southeastern Seminary. He later earned Master of Science and Doctor of Education degrees from North Carolina State. University. Clinical pastoral education was pursued at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Prior to accepting the .> Elizabethtown pastorate in 1960, Dr. Wallace served the Morven Baptist church. Dr. Wallace is a former moderator of the Bladen Bap• tist Assciation and a former president of the Bladen Bap• tist Pastors Conference. He has served on the General Board of the Baptist State Convention and has been ac• tive in the Southeastern Seminary Alumni Association of the Convention. In Bladen county Dr. Wallace is a member of the county board of mental health and the East Bladen High School and Elizabethtown Junior High School Board of Education. Dr. Jerry M. Wallace Baptists Will Hold

Dr. Jerry M. Wallace of Camp• bell University will be preaching revival services at First Baptist Church, Southern Pines, beginn• ing this Palm Sunday and conti• nuing on the following schedule: Palm Sunday, April 12, 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Monday, April 13, 7: 30 p.m.; Tuesday, April 14, 7: 30 p.m.; Wednesday, April 15, 7:30 p.m. Dr. Wallace has been chairman of the Campbell College Depart• ment of Religion since August, 1975. He has been adjunct pro• fessor of sociology at the college since 1970 while continuing as pastor of Elizabethtown Baptist . Church, which he had been serv• ing since 1960. · During his years at Elizabethtown, Dr. Wallace com• muted to North Carolina State University and, specializing· in sociology, completed . re• quirements for the degree of doc• tor of education, which he receiv• ed in 1971. In 1956-60 he had qualified for the bachelor of divinity and master of theology degrees at Southeastern Baptist Seminary, having received the bachelor of arts degree of East Carolina University in 1956. Dr. Wallace, who had his first professional assignment during his seminary days as pastor of the Morven Baptist Church in An• son County, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Wallace of Rockingham. He is married to the former Betty Blanchard of Warsaw. Their children are Betty Lynn, 22, a Campbell senior; McLain, their 18-year old son; and a daughter, Kelly 13. Mrs. Wallace is a teacher of mathematics in the school system of Harnett County. Dr. Wallace has been moderator of the Bladen Baptist Association and a member of various committees of the North Carolina' Baptist State Conven• tion and of its General Board. The scriptures were read by Campbell University de• partment heads and faculty mem• bers. In between scriptures, hymns and carols of the season were per• formed by the Campbell University Singers, Choir and musicians. Dr. Wallace, who serves as vice president for academic affairs and provost for Campbell University, joined the faculty in 1970 as an adjunct professor of religion and sociology. He became a full time professor in 1975. He was appointed to the position of University Provost in 1984 and was named vice president in 1986. He has played a major role in program expansion at Campbell University by chairing such com- ' mittees as the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, the School of Pharmacy, School of Education and the Divinity School.
