This club was known as the CahiT Slashers. the name is said \0 corne from Tim Looney who work ed in the Post Onicc and came from Longford where the football club is callcd Ihe Slashers. EvcllIually the Wild Ro\crs and Cahir Slashers amalgamated to fonn Cahi r Hurling & Football club as we know it too day.
