All Members The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa 63 Sparks Street, Suite 601 Ottawa, Ontario K1P 5A6

Dear Fellow Members::

You may or may not know that the Club last year lost a valuable source of income, which we had enjoyed for some years. A local merchant had nominated us as the Licensed Charity for a Nevada Outlet. The Govern- ment requires this type of sponsorship for all of these types of gambling activities. This sponsorship re- sulted on our club receiving in the vicinity of $30,000 per annum , which is sorely missed at this time.

The Ways and Means Committee has been attempting to make contact with a Merchant group in order to replace this lost income. To date we have not been able to make contact with any potential participants that are willing to make a change in their present arrangements.

Recently Don Keyes has been able to obtain a list of potential third party Nevada ticket sales sites from a contact that is active in this type of work and this list is attached to this memorandum. We are asking each member to do three things, which could hopefully result on our reinstating this lost income for the next fiscal year. These are as follows:

1) Read the names and see if you have a good contact or association with any person or authority in the Merchant list. 2) Take a few minutes and think if you have a contact in the type of demographic group that you think would be a good contact. 3) If you do have a name either on or off the list please contact me and we can explore ways that we might be able to make contact with the Group or person to explore the possibility of nurturing an association , which would be advantageous to all parties.

Hope to hear from you in this regard,

Ed Mulkins
