This will over-ride local planning with applications determined by the Welsh Government. Priority Areas cover one quarter of Powys outside the Brecon Beacons. The Areas carry a presumption in favour of development and will, of course, require extensive transmission infrastructure as there is no current Grid capacity. Powys is to be subsumed into a Swansea / Llanelli City Region and subject to their Strategic Development Plan.
