ABERMULE with LLANDYSSIL COMMUNITY COUNCIL : LOCAL DEMOCRACY UNDER THREAT AGAIN: New proposals for large wind and solar farm 'Priority Areas' in Powys are identified by the Welsh Assembly Government National Development Framework. This will over-ride local planning with applications determined by the Welsh Government. Priority Areas cover one quarter of Powys outside the Beacons. The Areas carry a presumption in favour of development and will, of course, require extensive transmission infrastructure as there is no current Grid capacity. Powys is to be subsumed into a Swansea / Llanelli City Region and subject to their Strategic Development Plan. Consultation documents, response form & online response link. https://gov.wales/draft -national-development-framework The consultation closes on 1st Nov 2019.
