That is why we pride ourselves on our wonderful staff of talented rec leaders. We look for energetic and responsible individuals who are ready for a summer full of laughter, friendships, and fun. With a staff/camper ratio of approximately 1:6 for ages 3-6 and 1:10 for ages 7-11, our staff gets to know the campers well. In addition, many of our leaders continue to return year after year, as they have become attached to the park and rec life. From professional educators to college students and former campers, our loyal staff is made up of a diverse group of people who all bring something uniquely wonderful to our camps. Join the Team! If you love kids, and you want to have the summer of a lifetime, then join the 2020 Prior Lake Rec Leader Team! The City seeks enthusiastic recreation leaders who are good role models and enjoy being around children. Position is responsible for caring for children between the ages of 3–11 years who participate in the City’s structured recreation programs utilizing Prior Lake neighborhood and community parks. • Must have valid Minnesota driver’s license with driving record acceptable to the City. • Must have the ability to lift up to and over 30 pounds, and perform physical activity in outdoor weather conditions. • Must be 16 years of age as of May 1 of the current year. • Must be able to communicate via email. YOUTH PROGRAMS FOR AGES 3 - 11 About Our Youth Programs Summer recreation camps are for children to participate in fun, supervised, outdoor activities during the summer months. Summer Recreation staff provide quality recreational experiences that promote healthy living, character building, and teamwork through collaborative and active play. Please note, each camp has specific themed activities which will be in addition to traditional camp activities. Campers are asked to wear clothes and shoes that they can run in. Campers should also wear sunscreen and bug spray if they desire. Campers should bring a water bottle each day. Read more about what to bring and expect at programs in the Parent handbook online. LUNCH BUNCH: Lunch Bunch is a “bridge” between Prior Lake Recreation’s morning and afternoon programs from 12-12:30pm for many 6-11-year-old camps. Lunch Bunchers bring their own lunch and eat together, with recreation staff, at their park, then enjoy supervised free play until the afternoon program is ready to begin.Fee is $15 each week.
