Day 1 Arrival at – Transfer to Hotel

The New Delhi to Leh flight is an experience by itself, It follows air traffic service (ATS) route W-39 between 77 and 78 degrees of longitude, covering an aerial distance of about 856 km. The aircraft flies over green foothills of the Himalayas, snow-capped peaks, glaciers, lakes, windswept valleys dotted with hamlets and dun landscape offering a visual delight. Remember to book a window seat to enjoy the views. Our representative will welcome you at The Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh & transfer to the Hotel. After breakfast rest for the day at the hotel for acclimatization to the high altitude. Overnight at Leh | Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner. Day 2 Excursion to the Sham Valley: 90 km (Half Day)

After a leisurely breakfast, drive towards the confluence of Indus & ; en-route witness the gravity-defying phenomenon of the Magnetic Hill and gawk at amazing views of the airport from . Gurudwara Pather Saheb, built to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev to in 1517 has a story waiting to be heard. On your way back, pay homage to the war heroes at The Hall of Fame. Day 3 Overnight excursion – Hunder, Valley via (5259 m): 130 km (05 hours)

Post a leisurely breakfast, we drive north to Nubra Valley, also known as the valley of flowers, via the famous Khardungla (17,852 ft.) which was for a very long time called the highest motorable road in the world. It is the primary gateway to the and Nubra valleys, Warila (17,427 ft.) being the secondary gateway. Hunder is a vast expanse of green with crystal clear glacial streams crisscrossing the cultivable land abound with apricots, walnuts, almonds, apples and various fruits and flowers. Arrive at the resort and rest for some time. The Sand dunes of Nubra is home to the double-humped Bactrian camels. Visit the Hunder sand dunes in the evening to enjoy an amazing sunset. Day 4 Nubra Valley - Excursion to Siachen Base Camp: 260 km (10 hours)

Well, who wouldn’t like to visit the incredibly famous or , the highest battleground in the world? Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Be prepared for rough roads after , there are several water crossings and the road is almost non-existent. But the trill is incomparable, driving through the virgin mountains is incredibly adventurous. If you are looking for relative comfort, then drive to a picture-perfect balti village on the border, going past – the military airport servicing Siachen Glacier. Turtuk was occupied by Pakistan before 1971. One can still see the remains of wartime bunkers. Embark on a picturesque drive from Hunder, visiting the Majestic Deskit Monastery en route Pangong Tso, an endorheic lake in the Changthang region situated at a height of 4,350 m. The lake is 134 km long and extends from to China covering 604 sq. km. During winter the lake freezes solid, despite being saline water. The journey is very pleasant with the road meandering alongside Shayok river, though there are some rough patches and water crossing which can be a bit of a challenge. After crossing Agham & Durbuk, we will reach Changthang, a region that is quite popular for its scenic beauty, lakes, wildlife and is home of the Changpa tribe, a nomadic and pastoral community. Spend a starlit night at the retreat, enjoying the surreal views of the milky way like a highway. Overnight at Pangong| Meals: Breakfast & Dinner. Pro Tip: Leave early to avoid getting stuck at water crossings.

Day 6 Pangong Tso to Leh via (5,360 m): 145 km (05 hours)

Enjoy a picturesque sunrise at Pangong Tso, it is almost meditative to look at the changing colours of the lake and the surrounding landscape. Pangong Tso is in Changthang, a high altitude plateau. Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary is home to many rare species of flora and fauna and the nomads roam the pastures with their herds of cattle. The famous Pashmina goat is found here in abundance. After your breakfast drive back to Leh, crossing Chang La (17,590 ft.), a high altitude pass, It will leave you breathless, with the sheer beauty and altitude, If you want, then stop at The Thiksey monastery before Leh. Day 7 Overnight excursion to via Lamayuru: 230 km (07 hours)

After a leisurely breakfast, drive towards the confluence of Indus & Zanskar; en-route witness the gravity-defying phenomenon of the Magnetic Hill, visit Gurudwara Pather Saheb, built to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev to Ladakh in 1517 has a story waiting to be heard. Visit Alchi, the oldest (1100 years) monastery of Ladakh. Unlike the other gompas in Ladakh, Alchi is situated on lowland, not on a hilltop. Continue your journey to Lamayuru, popular for its lunar landscape and monastery. Continue further to Mulbekh, an area dominated by Mulbekh Camba which houses the sculpture of “Maitreya” (09m high), the future Buddha. The sculpture dates back to the 7th century. Reach your hotel in Kargil and rest for the remaining day. Overnight at Kargil | Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Pro Tip: You could take a small detour and view the Basgo Dam before Alchi.

Day 8 Kargil to Leh via & the Aryan Village: 240 km (07 hours)

Kargil is one of the two districts and second-largest town in Ladakh after Leh. spans across 1,500 km bordering Pakistan and sits at an altitude of almost 2700 meters. Kargil is quite close to the (Indo-Pak). Known for stunning panoramic views of the mountains and the shimmering , Kargil is loved by Nature photographers and adventure seekers. After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to Hunderman Village. Once an outpost on the historic Silk Route, the strategically-sensitive Himalayan hamlet has witnessed innumerable skirmishes and four wars and used to be with Pakistan till 1971. Visit Unlock Hunderman, a unique ‘Museum of Memories’ that documents the life of border families. Proceed to Batalik, which was the main battleground during the Kargil war. Continue further to the Last Aryan Village of Dha and Hanu, home to the Bropka Tribe, commonly referred as the last Aryans or the descendants of the Army left behind by Alexander when he tried invading India. Continue further to Leh along the meandering Indus. Arrive at your hotel in Leh and rest for the rest of the day. Overnight at Leh | Meals: Breakfast & Dinner. Pro Tip: Carry an extra bag to carry apricots from Dahanu.

Time to bid adieu to the lovely landscape of Ladakh. Since most flights are early in the morning, we will arrange your timely transfer to the airport. If you earlier missed out on clicking photographs of the mighty Himalayas, today you have another chance to capture some amazing clicks of Indus & Chenab rivers, Kyagar Tso & lakes, Indrasan, Mulkila, Nun Kun & many more peaks and glaciers.
