New York City Lights up for Music Education WINTER 2018 News from Education Through Music New York City Lights Up for Music Education Partner school students and their joy of music-making were prominently featured at two New York City landmarks in December, as one group performed at One World Trade Center whose spire was lit for ETM and others graced billboards in Times Square. One World Trade Center The spire of the tallest building in the United States glowed ETM’s signature purple the evening of December 12, 2017, thanks to the Durst Organization’s spire lighting con- test, won by Richard Bernstein, Executive Vice Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield and Board Chair of ETM. The concert gives students the opportunity to perform for their parents who beam with pride as they look on. The programs from this year were outstanding! Students in grades K-2 from P.S. 483 in the Bronx sing “A Million Little Snowflakes.” First grade students from P.S. 483 sing “We Will Jingle.” Fifth grade students from P.S. 182 in the Bronx sing “Jingle Bell Rock.” Second grade students from P.S. 483 come together for a final song.
