This year, too, the Eurovision Song Contest wowed the TV audience! More than 8.29 million viewers in alone (43.6 % market share of 14-49 year-olds) turned in to watch the biggest song competition in the world live. The German TV station Das Erste broadcasted live as Roman Lob took part in the competition and won 8th place for Germany with "Standing Still", penned by Jamie Cullum, Wayne Hector and Steve Robson. So, for the third time in a row, Germany finished among the top ten of the biggest music competition in the world. The 58th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Stockholm.

Roman Lob: “The Top Ten was my aim – I am very happy. It was such an amazing time here! And I am very proud to have won points from so many countries. The ESC in Baku was like a big school trip but without the arguments. It is every musician’s wish to be able to stand on such a large stage and sing to so many people. Congratulations to Sweden!”

Thomas D, jury president of the "Our star for Baku" shows: “We finished even two places better than last year, so I am very happy. You have to say: after Sweden we are the best in the West. Roman has also won many international fans and friends.”

Lutz Marmor, director of TV station NDR: “A great success for a really good song! I would like to congratulate Roman Lob on his all-round successful presentation in the greatest entertainment show in the world. The success of "Standing Still" is also owed predominantly to the trio of composers Jamie Cullum, Wayne Hector and Steve Robson – and the German TV audience, who had a good feeling for the right song in the preliminary rounds. Anke Engelke earned a particular compliment. As the points were awarded live at the Grand-Prix party in Hamburg, she set precisely the right tone. Thanks, Anke!”

Roman’s debut album "Changes", produced by Thomas D, has been in the shops since 13 April. The album immediately stormed the Top 10 of the German charts.
