Hon gör därmed sällskap med de tidigare ambassadörerna Björn Ulvaeus och Gladys Del Pilar. Hon är född och uppvuxen i Ängelholm och debuterade på en countrygala i Danmark redan som 14-åring. Det stora genombrottet kom med segern i svenska Melodifestivalen 1998 där hon deltog med låten Kärleken är. Den låten var en klassisk ballad, fast mest känner vi Jill som Sveriges främsta countryartist och riktigt populär och folkkär blev hon med tv-programmet Jills veranda från countryns hemstad Nashville som visats tre säsonger i svensk tv och där hon 2014 fick priset för såväl Årets kvinnliga programledare som Årets realityprogram vid Kristallengalan. Efter otaliga plattor, turnéer, krogshower, tv-program och filmer blev 2020 året då Covid-19 gjorde att allt fick skjutas på framtiden. Istället ägnade Jill Johnson fjolåret åt att skriva nytt material och att utbilda sig till sommelier. Samt att som nu också stödja MPS genom att bli deras ambassadör. – Ideella verksamheter som Missing People ligger mig varmt om hjärtat där vi människor går hand i hand i solidaritet och omtanke. MPS organisation är unik i sitt slag och de tvekar aldrig i sitt sökande av saknade medmänniskor. Jag är en stolt ambassadör för dessa ideella krafter och jag vill vara en del av den famnen, säger Jill Johnson i en kommentar.     Jill Johnsson och Martin Stenmarck är schlagerstjärnorna svenska kvinnor och män drömmer om att vara Även om Sanna Nielsen är vinnaren av årets melodifestival så är det countrystjärnan Jill Johnsson och sångaren Martin Stenmarck som tar hem kampen som de melodifestivalvinnare svenskarna helst vill vara. Det visar en undersökning gjord av Scandinfo på uppdrag av Miljonlotteriet. Att svenskarna har en särskild kärlek för Melodifestivalen är välkänt. I Miljonlotteriets drömundersökning har svenskarna fått svara på vilken schlagerstjärna man helst skulle vilja vara. Schlagerstjärnan som toppar listan bland kvinnorna är countrystjärnan Jill Johnsson, medan männen väljer sångaren Martin Stenmarck. – Vi på Miljonlotteriet jobbar varje dag med att förverkliga människors små och stora drömmar. För att kunna göra det måste vi veta vad folk drömmer om. Så här i schlagertider vill vi därför se vilken melodifestivalvinnare man helst kan tänka sig vara, säger Ludwig Alholt, VD på Miljonlotteriet. I förra årets drömundersökning från Miljonlotteriet kom det fram att Lena Philipsson är den schlagerstjärnan vi helst tar med oss på semestern. I årets undersökning svarar 13 procent av kvinnorna att de vill vara henne. De kvinnor som slår Lena PH är inte bara Jill Johnsson, utan även Marlena Ernman och Loreen som nästan en femtedel av svenska kvinnor drömmer om att vara. Roger Pontare och Ola Salo i The Ark är männen som kommer på de svenska männens topplista efter Martin Stenmarck. Om man tittar generellt över svaren är önskan att vara Loreen som mest populärt bland den yngre generationen, 16-29 år. Malena Ernman är som mest populär bland de mellan 60-70 år.
