Foto: Urban Andersson 2021-02-15 07:10 CET Jill Johnson ny stolt ambassadör Countrystjärnan Jill Johnson är ny ambassadör för den frivilliga och ideella sökorganisationen Missing People, MPS. Hon gör därmed sällskap med de tidigare ambassadörerna Björn Ulvaeus och Gladys Del Pilar. Hon är född och uppvuxen i Ängelholm och debuterade på en countrygala i Danmark redan som 14-åring. Det stora genombrottet kom med segern i svenska Melodifestivalen 1998 där hon deltog med låten Kärleken är. Den låten var en klassisk ballad, fast mest känner vi Jill som Sveriges främsta countryartist och riktigt populär och folkkär blev hon med tv-programmet Jills veranda från countryns hemstad Nashville som visats tre säsonger i svensk tv och där hon 2014 fick priset för såväl Årets kvinnliga programledare som Årets realityprogram vid Kristallengalan. Efter otaliga plattor, turnéer, krogshower, tv-program och filmer blev 2020 året då Covid-19 gjorde att allt fick skjutas på framtiden. Istället ägnade Jill Johnson fjolåret åt att skriva nytt material och att utbilda sig till sommelier. Samt att som nu också stödja MPS genom att bli deras ambassadör. – Ideella verksamheter som Missing People ligger mig varmt om hjärtat där vi människor går hand i hand i solidaritet och omtanke. MPS organisation är unik i sitt slag och de tvekar aldrig i sitt sökande av saknade medmänniskor. Jag är en stolt ambassadör för dessa ideella krafter och jag vill vara en del av den famnen, säger Jill Johnson i en kommentar. MPS styrelseordförande Magnus Idebro säger att syftet med ambassadörskapet är att inspirera, engagera och skapa större kännedom kring organisationen och på det sättet få ännu fler att stödja Missing People och dess verksamhet.
