I have the privilege to present before you the minutes of an outstanding and trend setting 2nd. Cabinet Meeting of District 305 N-1 Pakistan that will be remembered and followed in future for its management, discipline, proceedings and effectiveness. The meeting was called to order by District Governor, Khalid Jamil at 12:10 hrs. on Sunday, November 27th 2011 in Naqash Hall of Serena Hotel, Faisalabad. District Chairperson Islamic Education, Qari Musthaq Ali Syed was honored to recite the verses from Holy Quran followed by Urdu translation. Area Associate Rashid Munir lead the house for National Anthem & Oath of Allegiance. Qari Mushtaq Ali Syed was requested to lead Necrology & Dua-e-Khair. Before requesting the Cabinet members for roll call and announcement of regrets, the Lion members who performed Hajj were congratulated and thanked for their prayers for the success of Lionism in 305 Pakistan. The Cabinet members were also requested to follow the code of ethics during the proceedings. The regrets received from the Cabinet members were announced (Annexure – B) The Cabinet members signed their roll call with the help of Mr. Khalid Mehmood (District Office Executive) during the meeting (Annexure – A). The District Governor, after calling the protocol, welcomed the Cabinet members participating from Shahkot, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Multan and other cities. Kashif Ch. and Ijaz Farooq. Governor’s Special Associates. Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Dr. Anwar Hussain, Abdul Wasey Malick and Ejaz Akhtar Qazi GLT Coordinator. Muhammad Afzal Sipra was specifically recognized for organizing GLT Seminars in Multan & Faisalabad. District Chairpersons. Safdar Iqbal Butt, Sabir Pervaiz, Dr. Ijaz Ullah, Mian Tariq, Khalil Ahmed Malik, Zafar Iqbal, Khushnood A. Sheikh, Sheikh Riaz Mahmood, Qari Mushtaq Ali Syed, Babar Javed, Hafiz Shahid Butt, Nazra Saeed, Barkat Aziz, Zafar Ullah Qureshi and Imran Saeed. Executive Team. Naseem ul Ghani, Rana Maqbool Ahmad, Shafi Ullah Khan, Jehangir Pervaiz and Imran Hafeez Sheikh. Presentation of Awards. To present last year awards received from International, IPDG Muhammad Azam Ch. was requested to coordinate and distribute the awards to the following clubs and individuals:- Membership Excellence Award were presented to Lahore Dawn Lions Club, Multan Punjnad, Garden Lions Club and six Clubs of Faisalabad, Faisalabad Dynamics, Eagle, Victory, Star New Century, Trend and Golden. Certificate of Appreciation was presented to IPDG Muhammad Azam Ch. District Governor & Past Council Chairperson recognized and honored the following Clubs with Diamond and Gold Club Awards:- Lahore Society, Countryside, Faisalabad Regency, Golden, Akai, Host, Royal, Star New Centry and Multan Stars & Al-Shams Lions Club. Multan Quality, Host, Zakrian Tayyaba, Executive and New Centry Lions Clubs. Approval of minutes of the 1st Cabinet meeting. The minutes of 1st. Cabinet Meeting were approved by the house unanimously on the proposal of Faisal Kamal Raja, Area Associate and seconded by IPDG Muhammad Azam Ch. Page 2 of 14 Report on Membership Growth & Club activities. House was informed that five new Clubs are formed during this Lionistic year. District has crossed 2000 mark in membership. District Governor has won “First Believer Superior Award” this award recognized District Governor’s to achieve strong membership result in the first four months of the year. District Governor visitation of Multan, Faisalabad and Lahore was elaborated before the house. Report regarding District dues was presented by Rana Maqbool Ahmad, Cabinet Treasurer. He highlighted that the District has received record breaking District dues to date. Report regarding International dues was presenated by Shafi Ullah Khan, Cabinet Treasurer International informed the house that to date 60% dues has been deposited by the Clubs and we are looking for 40% more in near future. The house unanimously granted approval of the Financial Report of 15th District Installation Ceremony held on July 23-24, 2011 on the proposal of PDG Malik Tariq Javed and seconded by Dr. Salman Saeed Area Associate Multan. The endorsed candidate for International Director, PCC Humayun N. Rashid was invited to update the progress of campaign Pakistan. He explained the whole process of his candidature, detailed as below:- The Legal Division at LCI has certified the year 2014 as unanimous candidate for International Director. He shared with the house that all international dynamics, understandings and knowledge are in grip. It was conveyed by him that due to the new constitutional geographical area changes in future we will have a new International Director on board after every 4-6 years. He thanked for all the confidence rendered by Lions of Pakistan. He reassured his commitment to extend his efforts to the best of his abilities to bring Pakistan on International Board. During his opening remarks the District Governor Khalid Jamil emphasized the followings: International President’s Visit of Lahore International President will warmly be received in the early morning of December 12, 2011 at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore by the Lions of the District 305 N-1 Pakistan. He will be attending Multiple Council Meeting of MD 305 Pakistan at 13:30 hrs. At 17:30 hrs. will meet the Governor of the Punjab in Governor’s House, Lahore. Banquet will start at 20:30 hrs sharp. On December 13, 2011 will have meeting, “International President meet Club Presidents of Page 3 of 14 District 305-N1” on breakfast along with District Cabinet Executive officers. International President will be visiting two Lions Club Project i.e. Hudson Silva Lions Eye Hospital of Lahore Host Lions Club and Haramain Eye Hospital of Lahore MJF Lions Club. Lahore MJF Lions Club will hold a Lunch in honor of International President Dr. Wing-kun Tam and President Tam will depart for Karachi at 18.00 hrs. Club Members Activities in the District. District Membership is now 2083 with net increase of 121 members. The result of campaign to add membership in Clubs with less than 10 members was very encouraging and 20 Clubs increased their membership to 10 before the dead line of November 15, 2011 and rest of eight Clubs requested for more time to meet the target which was not achieved due to unavoidable circumstances. Concluding the discussion on problems faced by these clubs in adding membership, PCC Humayun N. Rashid suggested to extend the date up to December 15, 2011 for eight Clubs to complete the process and add their membership up to minimum 10 members. The date for reporting new members was extended by the District Governor. Financial Report on LCIF Emergency Grant for Flood Relief Activities. It was amongst the pride moments of the year 2011-12 when the said report was presented before the house for their information and approval. It was the first experience that Emergency Grant received from Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) was enhanced by 5 times with the contribution of the Lions of the District 305-N1. LCIF grant Grant Rs.896,200 and Contribution from Clubs of District 305-N1 is Rs. 3,911,525. The grand total became Rs. 4,780,725/=. The total receipt & expenditure is presented to the house for approval. Muhammad Younas Ghazi has asked for Audit Report, Past District Governors, S.K.Humayun, Saeed Aslam, Malik Tariq Javed and Muhammad Azam Ch. appreciated the gesture of the District Governor and his team by setting new tradition by presenting such a Financial Report of Emergency Grant before the house for approval. PCC H. M. Abdullah Chishty informed the house that such reports are for the information of the house and don’t require any approval. Area Associate Dr. Salman Saeed, Region Chairperson Mushtaq Ahmed Ch. District Chairperson Farrukh Umer Ch. endorsed and expressed their confidence on the District Governor and his team with precious words of faith and appreciation. In the end the house unanimously approved the Flood Relief Account. Information regarding ISAAME Forum in Beirut, Lebanon (December 8 – 11, 2011) District Governor Khalid Jamil informed the house that 13 member delegation from District 305- N1 will participate the forthcoming ISAAME Area forum and will be back on December 12, 2011 accompanying International President Dr. Wing-kun Tam. Page 4 of 14 Information regarding 8th Regional Leadership Lions Institute to be organized at Bhurban February 22 – 24, 2012. District Governor assured that although we have submitted more than the allotted District quota for the 8th RLLI but with the cooperation of the Managing Committee of RLLI all our applicants would participate in the Institute. District Governor Khalid Jamil welcomed Council Chairperson Tahir Majid Kapur and his colleague District Governor of N-2 Abdul Majid Sheikh on their arrival and escorted them on their respected seats. He recognized the following Lions & Projects: Project for Hunger: Muhammadi Lunger sponsored by Shahid Ismail President and Members of Lahore Countryside Lions Club at Lahore and Syed Ejaz Shah and Members of Multan Crescent Lions Club at Multan. Cleft Lips Surgery Project: President Saeed Ullah Khan and members of Multan Crescent Lions Club Area Associate Rashid Munir and Members of Faisalabad Crown Lions Club Report on status of Sight First Grant Proposal. PDG Major (Retd) Javed Zamir Ahmad shared the changed priorities of the LCIF as per grants are concerned. He highlighted the priority areas of funding like Equipments in the hospital, up gradation of the hospitals etc.
