Each year, a large number of tourists come to admire the world-famous works of art by Dutch masters. It is no surprise, then, that the Netherlands have the most museums per square kilometer. This edition of Meeting International highlights a number (a very small selection) of Dutch artists, and of course we pay attention to the newly renovated Rijksmuseum. On 13 April, after a renovation lasting ten years, the Rijksmuseum was finally officially reopened by Princess Beatrix. Four months later, over 1 million people had already visited the museum. Now, seven months after the reopening, each day 7,000 to 10,000 visitors come to view the museum’s treasures. That the Rijksmuseum enjoys international renown, was proven early November, when the museum was granted the award ‘Best European Tourism Project’ – leaving the Paris Louvre behind. The jury of this competition, including famous travel journalists, photographers and writers from Great Britain, praised the museum for its success- ful transformation. And that is another thing we can be proud of! Have a nice read! Team Meeting International Photographer: Hugo Potharst Photographer: Paris . Sao Paulo . London . Shanghai . Dubai . Bangkok . Sydney .
