After 150 metres, turn left and follow the signs for Pieve – Monte Oliveto until you pass Rio della Madonna. Soon, on your left, you will fnd the monument erected around Pieve’s ancient Romanesque church dedicated to the Virgin Mary and which dates back to the 11th century. Si oltrepassa quindi il torrente Uzzone (indicazione stradale per Serole - Monte Oliveto). Dopo 150 metri, si svolta a sinistra seguendo l’indicazione Pieve - Monte Oliveto fno a superare il Rio della Madonna. A pochi metri, sulla sinistra, si trova il complesso monumentale sorto intorno all’antichissima chiesa romanica della Pieve, dedicata ovviamente a Maria, che risale in origine al sec XI. Questa è una delle più interessanti e pregevoli architetture della Valle Bormida, soprattutto per la facciata (con una lunetta ad altorilievo rafgurante una Madonna in pietra arenaria e una successiva bifora già di infuenze gotiche) e l’elegantissimo abside, nonché per l’imponente campanile romanico a cinque ordini, posto a metà dell’edifcio.
