Open it to any page and you will be assaulted by the visual spectacle of life in the Zooniverse or the Nabootique via photos, stories, and illustrations from all of the main and recurring characters of the tv series. Oh, and the kitties liked the ribbon book-mark. Theirs was an hallucinatory world, where gorillas and other beasts talked, strange characters lurked in the forests, and conversations were often mind-spinning. There was singing, dancing, and all kinds of antics. They really went all-out on the book — the hardcover is glossy and embossed. Although the show was broadcast on television, this is very much an adult book with much swearing and sexual references. If you love the show as I do! The book is a hodge-podge of colorful drawings, photos, handwritten lists, and preliminary sketching of designs incorporated into the show. There are a few new stories too. Not all of it works: some of the sizing made a couple of journal pages unreadable you could use a magnifying glass! If you consider yourself a fan you should NOT be without this book! For those who have never heard of them this book will seem like the scribblings of either a mad hatter or a retard, but to those who enjoy creative, surreal, and slightly raunchy humor, this is fun stuff! Yes it has a lot of the punchlines from the show in here at least from what I seen off of YouTube ; however, it was done in a way The Mighty Book of Boosh didn't feel pandering or rushed. You can tell that great care was put into this. The art work was beautiful and the pictures felt like a behind the scenes look. Truly loved it and laughed as well. I enjoyed the chemistry of Julian and Noel, the creativity of the worlds they created, and the crazyness of the stories. The book brought back lots of nostalgia, and offered lots of behind the scenes photos etc. However, a lot of the content is regurgitated from the series - though beautifully done. I wonder if perhaps I have outgrown the Boosh. I still enjoy it, but not at the fantatical level I used to, and because of that I think that part of the charm of this book was lost on me. He was created for the stage show Autobooshand later appeared in the radio series, three episodes of the television series, and the stage The Mighty Book of Boosh, The Mighty Boosh, in which he is the main antagonist, even killing all the main characters at one point. The Hitcher is an old Cockney man with long grey hair, green skin, a large polo mint over his left eye, a top hat and black and red clothing. He is evil, threatening to kill Howard and Vince whenever he meets them, and killing the whole cast in the stage show. His name is Baboo Yagu, but he is almost always referred to as The Hitcher. He is also a proponent of jazz fusion, especially proficient at playing with the slap method on the bass guitar, although his keyboard technique seems to consist mainly The Mighty Book of Boosh tuneless banging. The Hitcher has a confused history, he states in The Hitcher that as a child his parents were ashamed of his small thumb prompting him to seek out the Hornet Shaman. However, in Eels he reveals that Elsie, proprietor of the Pie and Mash Shop, gave him free eels "on account of [him] being an orphan n' that". The Hitcher is sometimes accompanied by two short, rotund henchmen called the Piper Twins. The Piper Twins are dressed similarly to the Hitcher, with similar polo eyes, but wear bowler hats and have long red moustaches, made from strawberry bootlaces. The Hitcher's appearance, though being grotesque, alters slightly during the course of the television show. In the first series episode The Hitcher he has an abnormally large thumb, as well as nose and chin. He explains this as a result of visiting a Hornet Shaman in the bin of a primary school and asking him to enlarge The Mighty Book of Boosh thumb. He later appears in the television episode, "Fountain Of Youth", where he plans to utilize the fountain of youth's magical qualities for himself with the aim of ruling the universe. In the second series however his thumbs are both normal sized. Ian later goes on to become Jack the Ripper, and the Hitcher murders him as punishment for 'slashing Women'.
