Registration procedure All participants need to register on the first day of the workshop at the registration desk in Incuba Science Park.

Access to building Late on in the day the buildings may be closed so you will receive a pin code for the build- ing. You can find the pin code on the back of your name tag. Use the pin code in the card readers at the doors. The pin code is valid during the entire workshop week.

Meals

Meals included for participants Coffee and refreshments are included on all workshop days. These will be served outside the lecture room. Pizza and beer session on Monday, August 20, 2012 is likewise included.

Meals not included for participants Lunches and dinners on the remaining days are not included but are at your own expense.

Where to buy food You can buy food in the canteen outside the lecture room (hot meal sandwiches etc.). You may also want to visit the shopping mall ‘Storcenter Nord’ across the street where you can find a selection of cafes and a supermarket.

Wireless access You will have access to a wireless network named “AU-Gadget”. All participants will have a unique user name and password (printed on the back of your nametag). Please follow the instructions in the lecture room to log on.

To and from Aarhus Airport You may take the airport shuttle. The trip takes approximately 50 minutes. Payment by cash or most common credit cards. Check timetables at: www.midttrafik.dk/køreplaner/airport+bus+aarhus+airport?

To and from Billund Airport There is a shuttle service between Billund Airport and Aarhus. In Aarhus the bus departs from Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Margrethepladsen, 8000 . The trip takes approximately 1½ hours. Payment by credit card with chip: Dankort, Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard and JCB. Currencies accepted (notes only): EUR, GBP, USD, NOK, SEK and CHF. To and from Copenhagen Airport By train: Trains depart from Aarhus H or Copenhagen Airport several times a day. A one- way trip takes about 3½ hours. You can check timetables at www.dsb.dk (the website is on- ly available in Danish). Tickets can be bought at the station or through www.dsb.dk. You may use DSB's guide in English on how to book. You can also use www.rejseplanen.dk.

NOTE: Due to trackwork during the summer, there may be delays and route changes.

By bus: Abildskou offers a bus service between Copenhagen and Aarhus ('Linie 888'). Note that Copenhagen is on Sealand and Aarhus is in Jutland. Check timetables and book online at: www.abildskou.dk/en

Buses in Aarhus

From downtown Aarhus to the workshop venue Take bus 2A – direction ' Sygehus'. Your stop is 'Paludan-Müllers Vej/Finlandsgade'. It is right next to the shopping centre Storcenter Nord. The bus departs several times every hour.

From workshop venue to downtown Aarhus Take bus 2A – direction ‘Holme’.

From Hotel Helnan Marselis to the workshop venue Take bus 5A - direction 'Marienlund’ from . Your stop is ‘Vestre Ringgade/Paludan Müllers Vej v./Vanggaard Centre’. The bus departs several times every hour.

Tickets and prices The bus fare costs 20 DKK for a two-zone ticket. Buy the ticket in a machine (pay with Danish coins) in the bus and choose an adult two-zone ticket. Tickets are valid two hours onward from the time of purchase during daytime. We recommend that you buy a two-zone multi-ride ticket (in Danish “klippekort”) at news- stands and at the bus station.

AarhusCard Another option is to buy the AarhusCard valid for 24 or 48 hours. With this you can travel as you please within zone 1 and 2 on city buses and regional buses. Furthermore you get discounts on the entrance for museums/attractions and for cafés, restaurants and much more. Buy the AarhusCard at your hotel or at the bus station.

Citybikes From April until November you can use any one of the 450 city bikes in Aarhus free of charge 24 hours a day. You can find them around the city in the 57 specially allocated bi- cycle stands. You can reach most of Aarhus' attractions by bike and the city has created many cycling paths to ensure a pleasant ride.

How to borrow a bike Insert a 20-kroner coin in the slot and press the "key" into the slot to unlock the lock and release the bike from the bicycle stand. You get your 20-kroner coin back again when you press the "key" back into the slot at any bicycle stand.

Museums While you are in town, you may want to visit: Aros (museum of contemporary art) (‘The Old Town’ – open-air museum of urban history and culture) (museum of archaeology; Denmark’s stone age, viking age, etc.)

Walking and biking Aarhus is famous for its location close to the seaside and forests. You can rent a Citybike (please refer to the section on Citybikes) or go for a walk in the forests and parks in and around Aarhus (nice places to visit are Moesgaard Strand, , Ma- rina, the Botanical Gardens). You may also visit Latinerkvarteret (the Latin Quarter) which is the oldest part of Aarhus dating back to the 14th century. Today the area is filled with small shops and cosy cafes and restaurants. The area is situated close by the shopping centre, Magasin.

Kählers spisesalon MP bruunsgade 33 A cosy restaurant where you may enjoy the traditional Danish lunch dish "smørrebrød". Open: Monday-Saturday: 9:00 am-22:00 pm. Sunday: 10:00 am-10:00 pm

Klassisk 65 Jægergårdsgade 65 Restaurant with French casual kitchen. Opens at 5.30 pm.

Le Coq Graven 16 Restaurant and pub. Open Monday - Wednesday + Saturday - Sunday from 5:00 pm. Thursday – Friday from 3:00 pm.

Malling & Schmidt Grenåvej 127 The top Nordic restaurant in town (or rather slightly out of town). Brace for a wonderful ex- perience. Open Tuesday – Saturday 6:00 pm – 12:00 am.
