Honouring THE MEMBERS OF THE NEW ZEALAND SQUASH HALL OF FAME 2021 SOUVENIR AWARDS PROGRAMME Shane O ’Dwyer Welcome to a Celebration of Success... and the Hall of Fame By Joseph Romanos It’s my pleasure to welcome you all to the seventh New Zealand Squash Hall of Fame induction dinner to One of the exciting developments for the New Zealand Squash Hall of Fame celebrate our 30th inductee. I’m delighted that Chas over the past year has been the decision to formalise the way some of the Evans will join the elite group of individuals who have contributed so much to New Zealand squash. Shane O’Dwyer Trust funds support New Zealand’s most promising juniors. How fitting that this event is in Chas’s own back yard, the Hutt Valley. Even more exciting is the opportunity to Shane O’Dwyer was an exceptionally popular player, coach and honour the sometimes overlooked contribution refereeing administrator whose sudden death in 1985 was a huge shock to the brings to our sport. Thanks also to New Zealand Squash squash community. and the Hall of Fame selection panel for their contribution to the induction process. He had been ranked among New Zealand’s top six players from 1971- Hall of Fame Board with 2018 inductee Shelley I’d like to acknowledge the members of the Hall of Fame 76, reaching a high of No 3 in 1973, the year he represented New Kitchen. El Tayeb, a 2018 ToC finalist and 2019 semifinalist, will be favored with a 5-0 head-to-head record and two decisive 3-0 victories against her younger compatriot in 2019. 2:00: [6] Joelle King (New Zealand, age 31, rank 6) vs. [12] Joshna Chinappa (India, age 33, rank 12) 2020 TOC APPAREL Both players enjoyed a smooth start to the tournament with 3-0 second round wins, and will be up for the fight. While King holds an 8-3 head-to-head lead, Chinappa has won two of their last three encounters since 2018— ON SALE AT THE TOC including a best-of-three upset during September’s Oracle NetSuite Open. King will look to avenge that loss to PRO SHOP reach her second straight ToC quarterfinals. -

The two events were played concurrently every two years until 1983. In 1981 the event was opened to professionals and the name changed to World Individual Championship. COUSINS SHIELD & MITCHELL CUP NEW ZEALAND CLUBS NATIONAL SQUASH TEAMS EVENT OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT PROGRAMME 30 MAY - 1 JUNE 2014 BURNSIDE & SQUASHWAYS CLUBS CHRISTCHURCH NEW ZEALAND FREE ENTRY TO ALL TOURNAMENT SQUASH CLUBS WELCOME I would like to welcome all players, management and supporters to the 2014 Cousin Shield & Mitchell Cup National Teams Championships. This event hasn’t been held in Christchurch for 36 years, and both the Burnside and Squashways Clubs are excited and looking forward to hosting this year’s event. The tournament has attracted record number of entries with over 80 A Grade players, including past World Champion Carol Owens, former WR #3 Stuart Davenport, and current world ranked players Martin Knight WR #48, Abdulla Al Tamimi WR # 76 and our local player Paul Coll WR # 87. This event couldn’t have been possible without the experience of tournament organisers Nicky Dunlop and Paul Growcott who have spent many hours to make sure this is a very successful and enjoyable tournament.
