C:\Documents and Settings\Athle 2004 Memphis Intercollegiate October 4-5, 2004 Colonial Country Club, South Course Hosted by the University of Memphis Presented By: The Course The Colonial Country Club, a private course located in eastern Shelby County, served as the venue for the FedEx St. Colonial Country Club - South Course Jude Classic on the PGA Tour for 19 years prior to its moving 2736 Countrywood Parkway to its current location, the TPC at Southwind. The club also Cordova, TN 38018 features a North course. Both courses were built on rolling (901) 382-0084 terrain and have water hazzards that come into play on many holes. In conjunction with the FWSGA, the FSGA recognized the Players-of-the-Year, Volunteer-of-the-Year and Florida Junior Tour Players-of- the-Year. It was a special evening as the Florida Golf Hall of Fame inducted seven men who were influential in Florida golf. The following men were honored as the first inductees into the Florida Golf Hall of Fame. AC Ulmer founded the FSGA in 1913. Ulmer won the first Florida State Amateur Championship in 1914 and went on to win the Amateur four more times (1917, 1921, 1922, 1928). He also won the 1950 United States Seniors’ Golf Associa- tion Championship (forerunner to the US Senior Amateur which began in 1955). Jim Callender is a 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Jim has worked many FSGA and USGA championships, including five US Opens. The Silver Star recipient retired from the Marine Corps after serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Charlie Bedford is a 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Charlie is an FSGA Tournament Chairman and Course Rater. He was awarded the 2000 Volun- teer-of-the-Year. Charlie has been a USGA Committee Member for ten years and has officiated four US Opens, six US Amateurs, seven US Senior Opens and ten US Amateur Public Links Championships. Carl Dann Jr. is a 5-time Florida State Amateur Champion (1933, 1934, 1937, 1938, 1949).

    ������ ��� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � ������� ����� ���� ����������� December 2006 Three Inducted into Florida Golf Hall of Fame On Friday, November 17, the FSGA inducted three deserving men into the Florida Golf Hall of Fame at the 2006 Annual Dinner at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club in Tampa. Gary Koch, Bob Rankin and Bill Baker were honored as the second class of inductees into the Hall of Fame. Gary Koch began his golf career early on in 1969 winning the Florida Open at the age of 16. From 1968-1970, Gary won three straight Florida Junior Championships and won the US Junior Championship in 1970. He then captured the Florida Amateur in 1972 and went on to the University of Florida where he was a three-time first team All American and a member of the 1973 NCAA Championship team. In 1975, Gary joined the PGA Tour and won six events over 15 years. Now on the Champions Tour and part of the NBC golf announce team, Gary also keeps busy with his golf course design and development business. In 1992, the Governor of Florida named him the “Ambassador of Golf.” Bob Rankin played college golf at Ohio State University and won the 1955 Ohio Amateur. After moving to Florida, Bob won the Florida Amateur in 1969 and Mid-Senior in 1972. Other FSGA Championships include the 1989 Senior Four-Ball Championship and 1992 and 1994 Senior Championship. He won Gasparilla twice, the Florida State Senior Golf Association Championship three times and US Senior Challenge Championship four times including three con- secutive years. Bob, a founding member of Cypress Run Golf Club in Tarpon Springs, was inducted into the Ohio Golf Hall of Fame in 1996.
