Vanderbilt-Thecarrols.Pdf INTRODUCTION “Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop.” Named after Lewis Carroll, one of Guildford’s most revered residents, The Carrolls is an exclusive development of just four townhouses and ten apartments. Boasting an unwavering attention to detail and a prime location, moments from Guildford’s picturesque town centre and railway station, The Carrolls is the embodiment of Vanderbilt Homes’ belief in putting exceptional quality at the heart of every home. OVERVIEW “You would have to be half mad to dream me up.” The fantastical world Lewis Carroll created was a masterful journey of the imagination. A much loved counter to the trials of everyday life. The Carrolls elegantly captures this feeling. Beautifully designed and attentively finished, each of the properties within the development represents a harmonious escape from the pressures of modern life. These are homes in the truest sense. However, don’t let its picturesque nature and quaint pedestrianised cobbled high street fool you into thinking that this is a sleepy hamlet. With arguably the best shopping in the South East, the town centre is home to a host of well known brands; as well as a veritable world tour of gastronomic delights. Britten’s, The March Hare, Jamie’s Italian, Cote and Olivio are particular local favourites. As are The Weyside and The Albany, if you’re looking for a cosy pub. Cultural nourishment is also well catered for, courtesy of the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, The Electric Theatre, G Live and the highly acclaimed Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally, with the A3 only 0.8 miles away and Junction 10 of the M25 just 11 miles, it’s perfectly placed for motorists. Not to mention those looking to explore further afield, thanks to the fast access to Heathrow Airport (29 miles) and Gatwick Airport (36 miles) it affords. • George Abbot Bulletin …The Weekly Round-Up and Preview for GAS Parents and Carers
George Abbot Bulletin …the weekly round-up and preview for GAS parents and carers Headteacher’s Message 25 June 2021 All Today, my Bulletin contains a note of caution. Coronavirus rates are increasing in Surrey and in our local area. Our district council neighbours, Reigate and Banstead have seen a significant rise in cases and some of our local schools have needed to send year groups home. We have to take this context very seriously. Please can I urge you to make sure your child’s face masks are freshly washed over the weekend, that you check they have some hand sanitiser and that you remind them we are not out of the woods, yet. This context has meant that we have been particularly mindful of risk when considering some of the end of term events we had hoped to run. I know how disappointed our Year 11s are that we did not choose to run a Prom at school. Our assessment was that the risk was too great (apart from the real lack of glamour that school could facili- tate!). However, that does not mean that we have given up on our Prom plans – far from it. Year 13: the committee and Sixth Form team have man- aged to secure a provisional rebooking of the Year 13 Prom to Monday 9 September. A separate letter will follow to Year 13 students and parents asking for students to indi- cate their availability for this date so that a final decision on viability can be made. Year 11: we have managed to secure a new date of Thurs- day 23 September for the Year 11 Prom at the same Pine Ridge venue.
