This product is intended for residential use only. DO NOT use this product outside of its intended use as mentioned in this manual or against building codes and regulations of the local area. Always take care and use appropriate safety equipment and eye protection when assembling and installing this product. You are solely responsible for the proper handling, storage, assembly, installation and use of this product in a safe and appropriate location and given application. Advaning is not responsible for any damages or injury to you, any other parties, or property resulting from improper handling, storage, assembly, installation or misuse of the product. The surface of the area should be clear of any obstructions along the Ground, floor or deck entirety of the Door Awning. Locate a position that is: Fig 7 A Minimum 2 inch of clearance below the roof/eave/overhang. B At least 10 inch of ver- tical clear space. Minimum 2 inch Minimum 10 inch clear space C 36 inches Fig 8 Toll Free (US): (855) 574-0158 www.advaning.com 6 INSTALLATION ASSEMBLE THE 1 DOOR AWNING 1 Peel the protective film from both the Fig 9 top and bottom back about 2” from the front and the wall side edges of the awning sheet. 2 Apply the rubber strips to the front and 2 wall side edge of the awning sheet. 3 Trim off all excess rubber strips. Fig 10 3 2 4 Press the awning bars onto the front and wall side edges of the awning sheet. 4 5 Using a small wooden block and a rubber hammer, gently tap along the entire length of the awning Fig 11 bars to firmly secure 5 the bars to the awning sheet 4 7 www.advaning.com Toll Free (US): (855) 574-0158 INSTALLATION 6 Peel away the protec- tive film from both the top and bottom 6 of the awning sheet. Fig 12 7 Match the holes on the awning sheet to the holes along the top of the awning brackets. 8 Secure the awning sheet to the brackets 7 8 with the (6) bracket Fig 13 screw sets. 9 Apply the wall rubber strip to the wall side 9 awning bar. Fig 14 Toll Free (US): (855) 574-0158 www.advaning.com 8 INSTALLATION instaLL THE 1 DOOR AWNING It is recommended that you have a minimum of 2 people during installation 1 Hold the assembled Door Awning in the area you want to in- stall it and use a level Fig 15 to ensure that the Door Awning is lev- eled. 2 Mark the positions of the 4 mounting holes 2 through the bracket holes using a marker/ pencil. Marker / Pencil Marker / Pencil Fig 16 3 Drill the mounting holes using a drill bit. 3 CAUTION: Make sure to use the appropriate sized drill bit for the mounting screws. SILICONE Wall Fig 18 7 Place the Door Aw- ning so that the brack- et holes are aligned 7 with the mounting holes on the wall. In- sert the lag screws Wall through the washers into the silicone filled holes. Fig 19 NOTE: Use a level to en- sure that the awning is leveled. 8 Tighten the lag 8 9 screws with a wrench. 24 HOUR 9 Once the door awning SILICONE has been securely mounted to the wall, apply 24 hour silicone around all screws to create a watertight seal. Wall Fig 23 11 www.advaning.com Toll Free (US): (855) 574-0158 MAINTENANCE CLEANING Clean the door awning with mild detergent solution and rinse with cold clean water. Do not use acetone, abrasive cleaners or other special detergent to clean the awning sheet. CARE AND It is important to inspect the screws and the condition of the silicone seals. Perform periodic inspections to ensure that all the screws are properly tightened MAINTENANCE and that the silicone seals are in good conditions. Re-tighten all screws and re- apply silicone as needed to prevent water leakage. Toll Free (US): (855) 574-0158 www.advaning.com 12 LIMITED WARRANTY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE LIMITED WARRANTY COVERS Advaning warrants all Advaning original products, sold and installed within the 50 states of the United States, to be free of defects of materials and workmanship. This warranty only applies to the original owner or purchaser of the product and is only effective on a basis for twelve (12) months or one (1) years from the date of purchase. Any defects or issues presented to Advaning within the warranty period will be handled by Advaning Customer Service within a reasonable time. Entire awning framework, including polycarbonate sheet and brackets are covered under the limited warranty. Should the purchaser notify Advaning within the twelve (12) months or one (1) year period from the date of the original purchase, defective component will be replaced in full or repaired by Advaning at no charge. Powder coated finishes and painted finishes are excluded and are NOT covered under this limited warranty. ANY MODIFICATIONS OR ALTERATIONS TO THE PRODUCT WILL VOID THIS WARRANTY. ADVANING, INCLUDING ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER FOR INJURY, DEATH OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AS A RESULT OF THE INTENTIONAL OR ACCIDENTAL MISUSED FOR PURPOSES FOR WHICH THE PRODUCT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR. WARRANTY LIMITATION AND EXCLUSION The warranty will be in effect once the awning is fully paid for. Advaning is not responsible for damages due to faulty modifications, installation, or re-installation. Advaning assumes no liability for damage to the structure to which the awning is attached, or to the property located underneath the awning.

    Requirements for the Construction of Awning Enclosures in Special Occupancy Parks The following items are needed to apply for an HCD accessory building or structure permit: Review and complete an Application for Permit to Construct (HCD 50) included in this handout. Follow the instructions on the back of the form and make sure that park management signs section #5. This application requires an original (wet) signature of the management along with two copies. The application for the permit to construct shall be accompanied by fees as specified on the fee schedule when using the approved plan in this handout. Any deviation from the included plans will require a plan check and plan check fees. Review and complete a Lot Plot Plan (HCD 538) included in handout, indicating where the accessory building or structure is to be constructed on the lot to include dimensions of the structure, setbacks from lot lines, and separations from other structures. Follow the instructions on the back of the form and make sure that park management signs the “STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY” on the front of this document. This application also requires an original (wet) signature of the management along with two copies. Review and complete the “Classification of Fire Hazard Severity Zone” form to determine if you are located in a Fire Hazard Severity Zone or a Wildland-Urban Interface Fire Area (WUI). An accessory building or structure shall be designed and constructed to withstand the snow loads for the area where it is constructed and comply with sections 1433 &1433.1. HISTORIC PRESERVATION REVIEW BOARD Introduction Washington’s historic commercial buildings and the corridors in which they reside have a rich legacy that reflects the city’s history and economic vibrancy. These commercial buildings have served people from every profession and from all parts of the world, and the businesses and organizations they have housed celebrate Washington’s international flavor and cultural heritage. Maintaining the vibrant architecture of Washington’s commercial buildings and creating lively, inviting storefronts and streetscapes is a shared responsibility. These guidelines are provided for business owners, property owners, architects and designers, developers, contractors, neighborhood historic preservation groups, city revitalization organizations, and city agencies who all play a role in ensuring that the District’s commercial areas are attractive, dynamic and successful. A commercial area’s identity is defined in large part by its physical design – the overall layout of the streets and sidewalks, the physical placement of buildings and public spaces, and the design of individual commercial buildings. Washington’s commercial areas are defined not by rigid consistency but by variations in height, architecture, and materials that reflect the style, era of construction, and flavor of the surrounding neighborhood.
