COVID 19 (up to 24th Jan 2021)

2,118 confirmed cases were reported in 11 governorates affected; Aden, Hadramout, are the most affected governorates 17 new confirmed cases 615 deaths were reported 6 new death cases

➢ AWD/Suspected Cholera Outbreak in West Coast. 1. Cases of AWD/suspected cholera were reported from two districts (Mawza and Mukha District). Six children died in Al Asfal camp, Mawza district. Health an d Wash partners responded to the outbreak. 2. Health partners were urged to preposition medicines, IV fluids and ORC in health facilities. 3. WHO has substantial stock of ORC in Aden Warehouse, partners can request this supplies through the health cluster Only SHS, IMC, FMF and ADD have requested

4. Ensuring the Availability of a contingency stock in each district before any outbreaks, partners asked to assist in transporting supportive quantities to the district health office warehouses which they are working in.

➢ Action point 1. SNHCC to contact partners regarding ORS need and DHO contingency stock 2. IOM to share their assessment to Al araish HU

➢ Mocha Hospital COVID-19 Isolation Unit ❖ Updates 1. SFD still in the rehabilitation of the center 2. IOM is planning to support GeneXpert machine next week. ❖ Needs 1. Training on case management (MOPHP will conduct the training next month) ➢ Hodeida Governorate. Al-Wara’a Covid19 ❖ Updates: ❖ GAPS 1. Surveillance and Epidemiological data 2. Training on case management (MOPHP will conduct the training next month) ➢ Westcoast needs and gaps ➢ No valid epidemiological data from Hodeida IRG districts is being reported or available. Data will be available from this month according to Hodeida GHO

➢ Taiz Deputy director of Health office raised the following points: • Delayed incentive payments for IMC projects in Mukha, Dhubab, Mawza’a and Al Wazi'iyah • Health partners to report their 2020 achievements and their planned interventions in 2021 • He insisted on the importance of sharing the health workers nomination letters from the district level for governmental health office verification and approval to avoid duplication and increase the effectiveness.

➢ Dhubab district the following health facilities have a gap in Health services, Reproductive Health, Investigation, Essential drugs 1. Ghrirh HU 2. Alwahjh and Alkdha HU 3. Aljdid H 4. ALrawie HC 5. Al Ordhai HU 6. Mion Island HU 7. ALkadiha HU

➢ Mawza’a district the following health facilities have a gap in Health services, Reproductive Health, Investigation, Essential drugs: 1. Mouza HC 2. MCH HC 3. Jasr al Hamlil HC

➢ Al Wazi'iyah district the following health centers have a gap in Health services, Reproductive Health, Investigation, Essential drugs: 1. Azan HU 2. Alshqira HC 3. Alahyoq HC 4. Aldhrifh HC

1. Tuhita DHO director: 1. Tuhita rural Hospital without any health activities 2. Mocha Hospital 1. Medical supply issue

➢ Action point 1. SNHCC to compile the 2021 planned interventions and share it with GHO 2. SNHCC to contact partners regarding submitting their 2020 achievement reports and list of current incentivized staff to the GHO

➢ IPC Scale Up ➢ Following the report of the IPC analysis that was conducted in southern governorates, a scale up response was discussed by key clusters (health, nutrition, WASH and Food security). Currently 49 districts were prioritized for scale up. ➢ The following districts from the West Coast is under the IPC priority are Mukha, Dhubab and Mawza’a. ➢ The health cluster analyzed the partner presence in 49 districts. A total of 281 health facilities representing 40% of the total health facilities are supported by partners. Five frontline districts are 100% not supported at all. ➢ Partner’s Updates: Plans/Challenges: (a) IOM 1. Assessment of Alarish area and other Health facilities will be conducted next weeks 2. GeneXpert machine support to Mocha hospital IU (b) ACF: Al Khokha district. Hodeida 1. The two mobile health teams in will be substituted by permanent HC construction near to Al aliil IDPs camp (c) DEEM Organization Mocha hospital, Taiz: 1. Support Mokha hospital with Gynecologist 2. Implementation of Oxygen distribution system in Mocha Hospital 3. Medical waste incinerator Jisr Al Hamill HC, Mawza’a, Taiz: 1. Increased the number of midwifes to compensate the gap in the center after IYCY suspension

(d) Soul: Hays, Tuhita districts, Hodeida: 1. Planning to support Hays, Tuhita TFCs Mocha hospital, Taiz: 1. Implementing a project in Mocha TFC

➢ 4W and Reporting: • SNHCC presented the 4W infographics and the interactive website which can be explored by partners to follow up progress and gap identifications • As of December 2020, 38 partners are reporting out of 45 plus partners covering 2263 health facilities • The reporting has significantly improved currently standing over 84% • Partners were urged to promptly and consistently report on the health cluster DHIS portal.
