Description/content The MSc programme SynCat provides successful BSc students with a tailor-made curriculum for an intensive and world-class training in all aspects of modern molecular sciences with SYNTHESIS at its core! Special emphasis is put on modern synthetic techniques, catalyst development and applications, and theoretical and analytical tools.

The following courses are offered:

SYNTHESIS (SYN): The basic concepts of how to make complex molecules, functional materials, natural products, and drugs

CATALYSIS (CAT): Modern aspects of catalyst preparation, characterisation, and application to molecule synthesis in academic and industrial contexts

TECHNIQUES (TEC): Basic lab methods and tools for the preparation and analysis of molecules

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES (A TEC): Modern technologies and their applications in research and industry settings

2 RESEARCH EXCHANGE (RES EX): Study off-campus, develop your skills abroad or in a company (funding available!)

CONCLUSION (CON): Choose a specialisation and train special techniques for a successful Master's thesis

MASTER'S THESIS (MAT): Become a researcher and tackle a challenging task

Possibility of finding part- Students from EU member states and Switzerland do not need a work permit. Students from non- time employment EU states who are registered at a German university are allowed to work 120 days per year. Please note that almost all employers require good German language skills.

Accommodation The International Office will try to assist students in finding a room in a student dormitory or on the private market.
