The Port Authority would additionally provide $7.5 million in dedicated funding for enhanced upkeep and maintenance for the Promenade (that is, enhanced over the usual NYC Parks upkeep) for a minimum of 15 years, commencing upon the completion of the Promenade improvements. This would include funding for both staff and equipment to provide for maintenance of landscaped areas, removal of trash to keep the Promenade in a clean state, and regular upkeep of any new amenities developed as part of the Promenade improvements.
