Abstract: Amylosporus succulentus is described as a new record from Sheikhupura, Punjab, Paki- stan, on morphological characters and molecular evidence using ITS marker. The basidiomata of our collection showed similar characters with the type specimen except the size of the basidiomata, which are larger (17 cm long) than type (7 cm long). In the phylogenetic perspective, A. succulentus nests within the /campbellii clade and grouped with A. succulentus. Key words: Molecular phylogeny; South Asia; polypore;

Introduction

Amylosporus Ryvarden, is a described by Ryvarden (1973), typified by A. gramin- icola (Murrill) Ryvarden [= A. campbellii (Berk.) Ryvarden fide Ryvarden & Johansen (1980)], was introduced for polypore specimens with an annual growth habit, poroid ba- sidiomata, a dimitic hyphal system with generative hyphae presenting both simple and multi-clamped septa (Ryvarden 1973), hymenial hyphae without clamp connections, and finely asperulate and amyloid basidiospores (David & Rajchenberg 1985, David & Raj chenberg 1987, Hattori 2008, Chen & Shen 2014, Chen et al. 2016, Campi et al. 2017). The phylogenetic position of the genus in the family Wrightoporiaceae, with a sister clade Wrightoporia Pouzar, has been confirmed using the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and nuclear large subunit ribosomal DNA (nLSU) sequence analyses (Chen et al. 2016). Eleven of this genus have been recorded; namely Amylosporus auxiliadorae Drechsler-Santos & Ryvarden, A. bracei (Murrill) David & Rajchenb., A. campbellii (Berk.) Ryvarden (=A. graminicola (Murrill) Ryvarden=Tyromyces graminicola Murrill), A. casuarinicola (Dai & Cui) Dai, Chen & Cui, A. daedaliformis Zheng & Bi, A. efibula- tus (Lindblad & Ryvarden) Dai, Chen & Cui, A. guaraniticus Campi & Robledo, A. rubel-
