The Government of Tamil Nadu vide G.O. (D) No. 82, Higher Education Department (l1) dated 31.03.2021 has constituted the Search Committee to recommend a panel of three names to His Excellency Governor-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu for appointment of Vice-Chancellor, Anna University. The Committee consists of the following members: 1 Dr. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Chancellor’s Nominee / Convener Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi – 110 067. 2 Tmt. Sheela Rani Chunkath, I.A.S., (Retired) Government Nominee / Member Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department 3 Prof. S.P. Thyagarajan Former Vice Chancellor, Syndicate Nominee / Member University of Madras, Chennai – 600 005 The Search Committee invites applications for the post of Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, from distinguished academicians with high levels of competence, integrity, moral and institutional commitment and possessing the educational and work experience as notified by the Government of Tamil Nadu in their G.O.(Ms).No.187,HigherEducation (K2) Department, dated 14th July 2017, copy of which is available in the Anna University Website – www.annauniv.edu

The Vice-Chancellor shall hold the office for a period of three years (provided that a person appointed as Vice-Chancellor shall retire from office if, during the term of office he/she attains the age of 70 years).
