Since January, we have been witness to a number of crises. Whether it is the pandemic, the important conversations and actions around racial equity or the fragility of our economy, nonprofits in Oklahoma have stepped up and shown up in a big way. We never closed. What was “business as usual” is now “business as modified” – and we mean business. Even with all of the curveballs and crises thrown at our sector, our members have answered the call with harder work, more grit and doing even greater good. The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits also answered your calls. We collaborated together – with a newfound sense of partnership and belonging – as never before. When you needed counsel, we were there with the information you requested. When we needed expertise on various topics, you were there as our thought leaders. This partnership has never been more solid. I count all of you as friends. We have developed a chain link strategy to hold us together. We need each other more than ever. Our organization now acts as a hub for thousands of different spokes. Your missions are those spokes. Because of you, those who lost their jobs during the pandemic found hope and resources. You prevented hunger. You prevented homelessness. You delivered care. You expressed the most important virtue: love. Harnessing this energy together, we will emerge better, smarter and far more resilient than ever before. So, thank you. Thank you for your membership. Thank you for your engagement. Thank you for your work. Thank you for your leadership. Thank you for your expertise. And, most importantly, thank you for continuing to do good for as long as ever you can. We are nonprofits. We are excellence. With gratitude, Marnie Taylor President and CEO 2010-Present CHESAPEAKE COMMUNITY PLAZA LEGACY PLAZA 720 W.
