In the event a rule needs to be clarified the horse show manager will act as steward. All exhibitors are required to thoroughly acquaint themselves with all federal and state laws governing horses and horse shows. Entries Entries close February 15, 2021. Entries must be made on the official entry blank or on line at www.horseshowsonline.com. One horse per entry form. The complete name and address of the registered owner must appear on the entry form. Entries may be mailed or emailed. Payments may include an open check, credit card information or a check for all fees. Stabling and Arrival Information Stalls with doors will be provided. You may begin setting up Tuesday March 2. Horses may arrive on Wednesday March 3 for an additional charge of $40.00 per horse. You may not arrive prior to Tuesday March 3 for set up or to bring horses. For barns only showing at the Gasparilla Charity Horse Show – your arrival date is Sunday March 7 – you may arrive prior to that for a fee of $40.00 per horse stall. Stalls must be vacated by noon on Sunday March 15. If you must stay beyond that time, you must make arrangements with the Florida State Fair Authority. Refund Policy Refund requests received prior to the closing of entries will be made in full; except for the $40.00 office fee. Refund requests made after the closing date must be received prior to March 5 (for the Spring Show) March 9 (for Gasparilla). The request must be on a veterinarian’s letterhead. If the above is complied with, a refund of entry fees will be made. Stall fees will not be refunded. Requests made after March 5 (for the Spring Show); March 9 (for Gasparilla) will not be honored. Feed and Bedding All feed and bedding orders must be placed and pre paid with the Florida State Fairgrounds Horse Show Office 813 740 3500. Health Certificates and Coggins Test State Law mandates that each exhibitor be in possession of a negative Coggins test conducted within the past 12 months on each horse at the show. All out of state horses must posses a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 30 days of the show with temperature recording on each animal. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to be familiar with the rules regarding horses in the state of Florida. RV Parking Water and electrical hookups will be available to exhibitors. Limit Horse or Rider Rule First place ribbons won in any under saddle class count towards Maiden/Limit/Novice status in any under saddle class but do not count towards the status in driving classes. ASHA National Select Series ASHA National Select Series classes are to encourage more people to show American Saddlebreds and strengthen the show horse market by providing classes where horses of the same relative level can compete against one another. Owners must be current ASHA members to be eligible to participate in qualifying and regional championship classes. Owners will need to declare their horse as a Select Series horse in order to qualify to compete in the Regional Championships. Horses that show at the World’s Championship Horse Show in the same calendar year as a Regional Championship will be ineligible to compete at the Regional Championship. Declaration forms and Membership applications will be available in the horse show office. Show Ring All entries are advised to come to the warm up ring prior to their class and check in with the paddock master. The gate to the show ring will be closed two minutes after the first entry enters the ring. The show ring will be closed one hour prior to each session. Please check in the office for times for ring maintenance. Horse Show Facilities The shows are held in the Charlie Lykes Arena at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The ring dimensions are 125’ x 247’ and the footing in both the show ring and the warm up ring is dirt, sand and sawdust. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. We will follow all required CDC Guidelines and Protocols for the State of Florida and the Florida State Fairgrounds at showtime. Please plan on wearing a mask in the show arena at all times when you are not riding or driving a horse. Social distancing will be enforced and our box seats will be available so that you can distance with your “barn family” Temperatures may be required when entering the Florida State Fairgrounds Updates to our protocols and guidelines can be found on the web site www.uphachapter16.com Miscellaneous The UPHA Chapter 16 Spring Horse Show and the UPHA Chapter 16 Gasparilla Charity Horse Show reserve the right to decline and exhibitor and/or exhibitor’s horses before the show and the right to order any exhibitor and/or exhibitor’s horses from the premises without being held liable for damages of any kind and this shall be accepted as a condition of entry. In this event, all fees paid shall be forfeited. Neither the UPHA Chapter 16 or the Gapsarilla Charity Horse Show, its management, sponsors, employees or independent contractors will be responsible for any article of any kind or nature that is lost, destroyed, or stolen, nor liable for any injury sustained to horses, exhibitors, spectators or employees It is not necessary to qualify for any Stake Class in any Division American Saddlebred Division Five Gaited Section 32. Roadster Horses: In order to compete all horses must be a Standardbred or Standardbred type. Roadster Ponies are not permitted to compete in Roadster Horse classes. a. All horses competing in Federation Licensed Competitions must be properly identified and must obtain a Roadster Horse Identification number from the American Road Horse and Pony Association (ARHPA). An ARHPA Roadster Horse ID number for each horse must be entered on all entry forms for licensed competitions. b. Only one unique ARHPA Roadster Horse ID Number will be issued per horse. This unique ID number must subsequently remain with the horse throughout its career.     AMERICAN MINIATURE HORSE REGISTRY Driving Performance Division Rules 5.1 Miniature Horse Driving Division – General Rules A. Guidance: The driving division was founded for the purpose of developing and furthering the art and sport of driving for pleasure. A working knowledge of and compliance with the rules are essential. B. The only person to handle the reins, under penalty of elimination, is the driver. No change of driver is per- mitted during any class. C. Dress Code: Headers, Drivers and their passengers should be dressed appropriately. Dress in the show ring is to complement the overall appearance of the unit, not take away from the appearance. 1. Hats for gentlemen are optional, except when in formal attire. 2. Formal wear should not be worn before 5 p.m. un- less stake classes are held in an afternoon perfor- mance session. 3. No strapless dresses in any driving class. Miniature Horse 4. No sandals or open toed shoes to be worn by driver or header. 5. No T-shirts or shorts. 6. No farm, individual, or animal names may be dis- played. Exception: Draft harness classes. D. Horses must be serviceably sound. E. Horses may be shown with a full mane or mane with bridle path clipped and full tail. F.     2021 ASHBA National Select Series Regional Championship Show Locations Announced The American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association (ASHBA) is proud to announce the locations for the 2021 ASHA National Select Series Regional Championships presented by State Line Tack. The mission of the ASHBA National Select Series is to increase the value and experience of showing at ASHBA Star Shows for our members.
