Richmond Boudoir Styling Guide Styling your wardrobe is one of my favorite parts of preparing you for your session. When you book your session with me I help guide you in selecting all the right pieces. This guide is meant to help you kick start the styling process and get you thinking outside of the bra and panty drawer. Bras & Panties Choose styles that communicate your intentions and that you feel confident wearing. This is an area where options are pretty limitless. -Get properly fitted before your session -Bring 1 amazing bra and pantie set. 2 maximum but only if they are very dif- ferent from each other. -Look for panties with interesting de- tails. For example delicate lace patterns, cage styles, “keyhole” or “cut out” backs. -Experiment with color. Hosiery Hosiery is a fantastic addition to your boudoir wardrobe. It can be part of an outfit or the main show. -Stockings: The difference between thigh highs and stockings. Thigh highs have rubberized backing around the top band that holds them in place. Stockings do not and they require garters to remain in place. Stockings can be more flattering on your thighs. -Tights and pantyhose: For what we are doing you want to select sheer tights or pantyhose, avoid opaque styles. Patterned hose can be a very sexy. Keep the styles classic and avoid any patterns that are seasonal or feel like cos- tume pieces. -Body stockings are essentially pantyhose that cover most of your body. They can be incredibly sexy and are flattering on a great variety of body types. -Sizing: if you are on the cusp between hosiery sizes go with larger size. Bodysuits & More Probably the most versatile section of lin- gerie. These styles flatter a variety of body types. They come in a vast assortment of styles. They’re also one of my favorite styles of lingerie to photograph. Look for details that communicate your style. Are you soft and romantic, sultry, inviting, dar- ing, dominate, submissive, feminine? What do you want to say with your images? These styles can help you get that message across. Try them on for proper fit. Make sure the suit is not poking you, sagging in the bottom, fits the length of your torso and if it has underwire cups make sure they fit your breasts properly. As with any of your selections make sure you’re bringing pieces that you feel confident in. Accessories Shoes, jewelry and other accessories are a great way to personalize the look of your wardrobe. Jewelry: Accessorize to a level that you nor- mally would. If you only ever wear stud ear- rings then that will be perfectly suitable at your session. Likewise if you’re more of a statement piece kind of woman then certainly bring your favorite pieces with you. Shoes: This is the perfect time to bust out your sexiest highest heels. Stick with stilettos and avoid chunky heels. Bringing accessories like lace robes, garter belts, pasties, cuffs, body harness, collars, leather jackets, boots, bridal veil and garter are all great ways to personalize your looks. Additional Styling Tips - Play with new looks and styles while you’re in the fit- ting room. - Try everything on! Do not risk being stuck with some- thing ill fitting. Try it on before you buy it. - If an item feels like a costume, put it back and select something that feels more authentic to you. - Confidence is the sexiest thing you can wear so bring outfits that boost yours.
