Some companies prefer a business casual approach, while other companies require a business professional dress code. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR MEN Men should wear business suits if possible; however, blazers can be worn with dress slacks or nice khaki pants. Wearing a tie is a requirement for men in a business professional dress code. Sweaters worn with a shirt and tie are an option as well. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR WOMEN Women should wear business suits or skirt-and-blouse combinations. Women adhering to the business professional dress code can wear slacks, shirts and other formal combinations. Women dressing for a business professional dress code should try to be conservative. Revealing clothing should be avoided, and body art should be covered. Jewelry should be conservative and tasteful. COLORS AND FOOTWEAR When choosing color schemes for your business professional wardrobe, it's advisable to stay conservative. Wear "power" colors such as black, navy, dark gray and earth tones. Avoid bright colors that attract attention. Men should wear dark‐colored dress shoes. Women can wear heels or flats. Women should avoid open‐toe shoes and strapless shoes that expose the heel of the foot. GOOD HYGIENE Always practice good hygiene. Modesty, moderation, neatness, cleanliness, and gender distinction are the overriding principles of the LCS dress code and are values expected to be embraced by all LCS students whenever they are on campus or attending a school- related activity. READ THE LABELS: The tags sewn into most articles of clothing advise about specific treatments. 2. TEST FOR COLORFASTNESS: Labels often indicate whether a garment is colorfast. If you’re unsure, dampen fabric in a discreet spot (like an inside seam), wait a minute or two, and blot with a white cloth; if the cloth takes on color, the garment is not colorfast. Wash noncolorfast clothes alone until they stop releasing dye (include an old white sock in the wash each time; once it emerges untainted, you can add the garment to the rest of your wash). 3. SORT AND SEPARATE: Put whites and light colors in one basket, darks in another. Use additional baskets for extra- dirty garments or items that produce a lot of lint, such as terry- cloth towels and flannel shirts. Divide heavy clothes (like jeans) and lighter sheers and permanent-press items. Zip zippers, tie drawstrings, empty pockets, and unroll cuffs.

  • Create That Perfect Wardrobe 4-H Clothing and Textiles Project Selecting What’S Right for Me Project Outcome: Create a Wardrobe Plan
6-9 YEARS IN PROJECT Create That Perfect Wardrobe 4-H Clothing and Textiles Project Selecting What’s Right for Me Project Outcome: Create a wardrobe plan. Project Mastery Indicator: Completion of Wardrobe Plan. If you are like most people, you have lots of clothes in your closet but often feel you have nothing to wear. With a little planning and know-how, you can organize your closet and know what you need to buy to create that perfect wardrobe. This will mean looking at what you have now, determining what you will need, and taking steps to get those items. Create Your Own Seasonless Wardrobe Before taking inventory of what you have, here are some guidelines to help you in mastering the art of creating that perfect wardrobe. Select Basics Your wardrobe should be built around “basics”—pieces that are easy to layer and never go out of style: Black tank top: A white tank looks right at the gym and for casual outings, but a black one can be worn with everything from khakis to a cocktail skirt. Crewneck sweater: Opt for thin knits in cotton that layer easily. Jeans: It's worth paying extra for jeans that actually fit and flatter. Your best bet? Stretch denim with no more than 2 percent Lycra (the fabric will follow your curves and keep its shape). Long-sleeve white T-shirt: Looking thin in white doesn't have to be difficult. The trick? Choose a slim-fit T-shirt that skims over your body (but doesn't cling). Khakis: Forget the pleats (a flat front is more flattering) and forgo the front crease, too.

  • Wardrobe Workout
The necessity of a Wardrobe Workout I feel very strongly about this! In fact, I have included a whole chapter on the subject in Hot Stuff: the Ultimate Guide to Style for Women of a Certain Age, and have completed (successfully!), many Wardrobe Workouts for women who chose not to do it alone ... For many of us, the idea of throwing away or otherwise disposing of clothes in our wardrobe that are in great condition, is anathema; it's wasteful and unnecessary! But is it time you did something about the space occupied by clothing you may not have worn for the last 10 years? Or since you were 10 Kg lighter or 10 years younger? The question we must all ask ourselves, no matter our age or lifestyle is do we really need all these clothes? The answer, if you're being true to yourself, is probably no. Before you start, here is a quick tip to help the process along: Hang everything in your wardrobe with the coat hanger facing towards you; that is, with the open part of the hook facing out. When you wear something, reverse the coat hanger. At the end of one month you will be amazed at how many of your clothes you don't wear; in fact, you're probably not wearing 80% of your clothes! For this to be really effective, you should hang everything ... all your tops, sweaters, t-shirts, etc ... yes, everything ... How to go about rationalising your clothing G You must be totally ruthless with your current wardrobe.

  • Business Dress Code
COMPILED BY : - GAUTAM SINGH STUDY MATERIAL – SOFT SKILLS 0 7830294949 Business Dress Code- Introduction The most noticeable difference among college-going students who have just stepped out of a school is that they do not need to follow a specific dress code any more. "Bye, bye! Uniforms!" they collectively shout in joy. Colleges usually relax the dress code restrictions, as a result of which, some can practically drag themselves from the bed straight to the college. When the same college passouts join a company, some of those companies encourage them to carry on with the "brogrammer" attire, complete with the hoodies and slack jeans, while there are some companies that ask their employees to follow a formal dress code. Why Dress Code? Most of the organizations expect their employees to feel the distinct difference of studying in college and stepping into the professional life. And the most noticeable difference, you guessed it right, is the dress code. THANKS FOR READING – VISIT OUR WEBSITE www.educatererindia.com COMPILED BY : - GAUTAM SINGH STUDY MATERIAL – SOFT SKILLS 0 7830294949 Companies, by and large, are conscious about how their employees dress up. It is because the way they dress and groom in their work environment forms a perception in the minds of the clients, suppliers, and others about not only them but also the company. There are two very good reasons why companies are particular about their dress codes− Dress Code − has a social significance, with different rules and expectations being laid out to suit different circumstances and occasions. Impression Clues − The dress code of a person provides significant clues about various attributes such as their gender, income, occupation, social class, and attitude towards fashion, tradition, and comfort.
