Here you will meet up with your Tour Director who will accompany you throughout the tour. A half-day orientation tour this afternoon with a local guide to include the main sights of England’s Capital – you will drive past many of the capital’s most iconic sights including the Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square, with stops for photos along the way. You also gain a spectacular panorama of the city during your flight on the London Eye, the world's largest cantilevered observation wheel, which is located on the South Bank of the River Thames. A Welcome Dinner with the rest of the group this evening within walking distance of the hotel. Explore the Fishbourne Roman Palace, a renowned Roman site with outstanding mosaics and take a stroll in the Roman garden. A casual lunch to be taken in the Palace Café during the visit. This afternoon transfer to your hotel in Winchester, a journey of approximately one hour. Winchester is an ancient city steeped in history and has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Winchester Royal Hotel 1 night Standard Rooms Thursday, 13 September 2018 B, L Winchester to Bath With your Tour Director depart Winchester this morning for Bath via Stonehenge and Avebury. Arrive Stonehenge after a journey of approximately 50 minutes, arguably the most famous prehistoric site in Europe. A lunch stop will be made in a traditional, English pub when convenient. Onwards to Avebury, a journey of approximately 40 minutes. Here is one of Britain’s most impressive and complex prehistoric sites. Consisting of three circles of standing stones and a huge circular bank and ditch, its history stretches as far back as 2850 BC. Arrive in Bath, a journey of approximately one hour from Avebury. Afternoon at leisure. Dine this evening as a group in a local restaurant within walking distance of your hotel. Francis Hotel – MGallery by Sofitel Classic Rooms Saturday, 15 September 2018 B, L Bath to Cheltenham Depart Bath this morning with your Tour Director for Cheltenham via Nympsfield Long Barrow and Chedworth Roman Villa. The journey from Bath to Nympsfield is approximately one hour. The Long Barrow stands high on the Cotswold scarp, with spectacular views over the Severn Valley. Constructed in the Neolithic period, it has long been the subject of local legends. Onwards to Chedworth Roman Villa, a journey of approximately 55 minutes. Here, cradled in a beautiful Cotswold valley rest the remains of one of the grandest Roman villas in Britain.
