Choose one of the following assignments. The assignment must be handwritten on notebook paper in blue or black ink.

A. Imagine that the book you are reading has been challenged by a special interest group. Write a letter defending the book, using specific evidence from the book to support your ideas. B. As a literary agent, write a letter to the publishing company designed to persuade them to publish this book. C. You are the reporter. Write a front page news story or a report live from the scene of your novel. D. How does the protagonist OR a character of your choice grow and change through the conflicts encountered in the novel? What essential lessons does the character learn about life through these conflicts?
